Mark V is said to be mildly tacky. So for rubber protective film / cover, should we use tacky kind or non tacky kind? Or does it not matter what kind to use? I'm trying to order everything together, but not sure on the kind of protective film to buy.

Non tacky kind. Hurricane 3 is tacky. Mark V is not, it's grippy. There's a difference.

This is tacky:

Most people don't use protective films for non tacky rubbers. However, I think it does prolong a rubber's life

Appreciate the clarification!  However, your advice is contrary to what's widely preached out there.  The consensus I've found is that use non tacky films for tacky rubbers, and use tacky films for non tacky rubbers.  And when in doubt, just use tacky films, cuz there's really no harm.  So if Mark V is not tacky, I'm leaning towards using tacky films.

Sorry, the tacky / non tacky is getting confusing to read lol.

If the rubber is tacky, then the non tacky film could adhere perfectly to the rubber, but not so good to non tacky rubber.
Using film protector is always good for the rubber to prevent dust, and to prolong the life.
