I've been tinkering around again... cursed EJ! And have found myself on a course looking for long pips that chop well (off the table) in OX.

I know there are a ton of new ones out that I haven't had a chance to try, just wondering if perhaps any other choppers out there have discovered a gem?

I enjoy long pips in OX that are fairly fast. My usual chop is the low, skimming style that lands deep on the table. My strategy is not usually to bury opponents with heavy underspin, but to chop consistently and use the variation from my forehand chop to load up the spin.

I had fun chopping with Dornenglanz, Cloud&Fog III, Scylla. I think all of them are on the fast side. I used them with DEF blades: Defplay, VKM, Sword 309.

Edit: you can also add Palio CK531a to the list - Sun Jian Fei used it (and probably still does).

Old school, cheap option: double fish 1615
New Gen: Grass D.tecs

I've used both pretty successfully for chopping in OX (at my admittedly modest, intermediate level).
