Has anyone used both of these rubbers and can compare? I currently use Mercury 2 and wonder how the Palio AK47 compares in control and spin and speed

I can't answer your question, but there are 3 different versions of AK47 - red, yellow, and blue. They are not just different colors.

They're pretty much the two most different rubbers you can find.
One's a slow tacky rubber and the other is a non-tacky rubber that focuses almost entirely on speed.

When I was a beginner, I remember playing with AK47s. Tbh they had average spin but pretty good speed. However, I had a friend who was using Rising Dragon at the time (he’s about 1500-1800 now?) comment that it was slow

AK47 red, is an awesome fh rubber focussing on speed. AK47 blue is spin orieted , softest and lightest of the rubbers that I’ve used so far. AK47 yellow is similar to focus3snipe but not a tensor, which is good as you can control better still being soft(not as soft as AK47 blue). I’d suggest to go with AK47. But keep in mind that AK47’s are euro grip based rubbers and zero tacky.
