I just got the Dr Neubauer Firewall plus to try out lp. I really like the blade. Problem is, it seems hard to loop.
I tried mxp max on fh, did not loop as I would liked. Not knowing anything about balsa blades I then tried mxp 50 that was worse. Any suggestions for fh rubber that I can loop with? Or can I use a different DR N. Blade that plays like firewall plus but loop better. Dipping my toes into the dark side.

I just tried Xiom o7t, can spin more but every time I hit it harder it flew away. Club member told it is the blade it is bouncy; maybe that's what it is.

U r right I have to loosen grip instead of tighten. I talked to table tennis coach who tried out the blade. He said I have to loosen grip and also modify my forehand loop technique. Instead of lowering arm loop loop more from top half of motion. It worked. I can now loop and smash with mxp now, can't wait to try it out.

I have Firewall and it's very picky with FH rubbers. For me decent choice with old balls were Skyline 3 (close to Hurricane), which "masks" the balsa effect. I know one player with Rakza 7 soft. Overall, I think you should think of different blade - I think that Firewall leads to too many easy mistakes...

I want to try a blade with fast fh and slow bh but maintain long pip heavy disruptiveness like the firewall plus; any suggestions? Anyone tried the Other Dr N blades.
To simplify looking for 2 faced blade 1. Fast fh and able to loop 2. Blade size as big as firewall plus 3. slow bh - disruptive with long pips as firewall plus 4. Light or lighter blade 50-80 grams 5. Can be balsa, composite or non balsa Is there such a beast? Thanks

You might want to ask same question in the OOAK forum: http://ooakforum.com/index.php , all the pips experts are there... - Overall, 2 faced blades are not that popular with pips players. - Many defensive blades have big heads. - Slow BH side is not necessarily good for the pips. - Forget composite blades. I play with Joola Chen Weixing non-blasa blade, which has big head and it is decently fast for a defensive blade. It feels very different from Firewall, which is biggest difference. The blade weights 85 g and cost under 50 $. The are lots of similar blades. Cheapest alternative is to borrow someone else's blade for testing and see what you like.

I just wanted to add:
I continued my search for a blade that I can loop with using long pips. After many months and also browsing ooak forum. I am now using: Dr. Neubauer Matador, FH joola Rhyzer 50 pro 2.0(boosted) , BH DTecs OX - You can loop with this baby. Although push blocking is not as good Also Dr. Neubauer Matador Texa, FH Tenergy 64, BH DTecs OX - The defensive blades I tried, none of them worked out for me. CO3, Senso, SPinlord ultra carbon def, gambler 3 ply, 5 ply, immune ox, alligator combi, jackpot, grand master .... As for the Firewall Plus, the best FH rubbers I had on it was MXP and Tenergy 64fx PS there are all IMHO Thanks

I use Yasaka Shining Dragon. It’s a very light rubber with the Chinese sticky feel to it. Unbelievably spinny and very controllable. Another one is Andro Rasant. It has a different feel but works well. As for the blade, I stopped using balsa and switched to kiri with carbon. I love Andro Defcon but it’s discontinued now. Andro Fibercomp is a solid choice.

Chinese rubbers are working well with Firewall Blade as long as the size of the sheet is large enough.
Maybe you can try kokutaku 007 pro selected from Amazon.
