I want to know a little bit about this blade. If it feels good when you hold it. What rubbers fit with it and how fast it is.

And ofcoure what you think about it.

I think most of the blade will feel ok to hold if you shave it. When I change from single ply hinoki 9 mm (I have Cypress R and Darker Speed 90) to Violin, I feel more comfortable because it is noteably thinner.
Between Speed 90 and Cypress, Speed 90 is nicer to hold (I think it is due to the shape).
If you have the chance, it is better to borrow the blade you intend to buy and try it before you decide. I bought Darker 7P2A Carbon, thinking that it is fast (because of the carbon), but in fact it is slow. If I knew it from the start, I wouldn't have bought it.
If you want a fast blade, try Schlager Carbon X-CS. I have one and I like the speed, but it is a bit heavy (92 grams without rubber) and the size is slightly bigger than normal in the area near the handle. You can find this blade at iruiru.com . This blade is a limited edition.

aeoliah,
Not to sound rude but you didn't give your opinion about the ma lin carbon blade. I am expecting to get one very soon as it is in the mail now. I will be putting on it friendship - god-favoured and friendship - focus III. I bought the friendship rubbers cause they're cheaper. I will let you know what I think about it after I play with it for a while.

Chinamike, I did not give my opinion about Ma Lin Carbon because I have never tried it, but I like to share my experience when I bought a blade without trying it first, and in the end I am not satisfied with it.

Okay, so I used the Ma Lin for the first time tonight and I LOVED it. But before I give my review of the blade I just want to make some things know beforehand. Keep in mind that I've only used one set up (stiga energy wood w/ markv (fh) and mendo energy (bh)) really and am not experienced enough with varying blades to give you a very detailed critique. So, with that said I say that the Ma Lin is definately faster than my energy wood and I found looping to be very nice. When I loop I get a better feel for the ball than the energy wood which is very important for me. Eventhough the speed of the blade is fast, it has surprisingly good touch for the short game. I think these characteristics of the blade suit my style nicely (close to table, looping attacker). Lastly, I LOVE the sound that is made on contact. It has that snappy, clicking sounds that, I guess, is typical for a carbon blade. Those are my first impressions of the blade. If you have any questions let me know.

Is this blade good for the RPB(not that i use it that much becuse i have a smart footwork(lika Ma Lin))And how about the edges, are they sharp.

Thank you very mutch for the rewiew. I have orded this blade with a China Rubber. Any ideas for what rubber i can use for the backhand?

I just bought a new Ma Lin Carbon blade as well, and I have Friendship 729-2 fh, and globe 999 on bh (not speed glued). With the current setup it doesn't feel nowhere as fast as my current blade Avalox 700 (Mark V M2 fh, Globe 999 bh); but the control is very good and it's seems better for looping closeup and lot of control. The blade at least for me doesn't feel that hard.

As for the RPB, this blade provides a lot of control and rpb is easy to execute with it (it has shart edges btw). My impression is (that is w/o speed glue) to obtain a good loop one would really have to swing this racket to get speed.

I would agree with tthj2's critique of the ma lin. For RPB, I am probably like you in that I don't use it much at all. I'd rather block or move to hit it with a FH (If I'm not feeling lazy hehehe) but I like executing the stroke because it's fun. I found it to be very good for RPB compared to my Stiga Energy Wood because it had a little more kick and control. I used a softer sponged rubber (friendship focus III) for my BH and it seems to go well when doing RPB. I'm thinking about putting it in on my FH as well, but not sure. Definately a great blade for close to table, looping players.

Hehe, Chinamike we are the same. I only do RPB in loop against loop duels becuse it is so darn fun to do(with sidespin) and it is fun to do a Ma Lin flip with it. And about the close to table thing, i stand close, To close. Any ideas to work ghis of

Hello:
I changed rubber on my fh to Yasaka New Era rubber (2mm normal glue) to test it out. On first inspection the rubber don't appear to be fast at all and if you see the Yasaka speed rating it's only 7.9 whereaso Mark V is rated around 9.0. The New Era feels slightly harder than f729-2. However, if you take a full swing you can feel something like car changing gears and that's probably the tension effect; however you need to swing fast.

Loops: So far no problem with speed if you take a full swing and produces good spin too.

Blocks: The racket rubber combination is very good for close to the table fast blocks with lots of control.

Against long pips: I like my Avalox P700 outfit better against choppers so far.

I like this combination better than with Friendship 729-2 for fh; but, again you need to have a full stroke to get speed and spin out of this rubber with the Ma Lin carbon blade. Once you get speed and spin the control is good.

The reason i do not want to play with new era is beacuse the Built in glue effect, i dont want to play newglued.

I never played with a speed glued rubber before so I don't know how it feels and supposed to work and I tend to hit more than spin. I will go to my club next week and try blades from friends who speed glue (and them mine) to better assess it. I think one thing is for sure the blade itself is very nice and would work for many different rubbers, you just have to swing it hard.

I have tried it today, and i tell you that this racket does not feel good in the beginning before you playr with it(swinging in the air). But when i play with it feels really nice. Even if it is heavy.
I playd with Daweis sprungfeder g3 a4 on forehand 2,2 and DHS Dipper on Backhand 2,0.
