Just silly and curious I wonder what makes kreanga carbon so expensive. I know the specs about it high quality material, but how does that transform into the real world game or it is just another expensive high fine-tuned equipment like nittaku violin. Again, just silly and curious!!!

Very good question. My 2 cents answer is that it's like going to the shrink. Let me explain myself. When you go to the shrink and pay him just for talking, you'd better be charged huge amount otherwise you do not feel the treatment is worth. For TT equipment it's the same. Some of us are thinking that a blade has to be very expensive, otherwise it's not the holy grail we've been looking for all our TT career. I know, it's a silly statement and one shall not be playing any better with a 30$ blade than with a 120$. Furthermore, I'm asking a little bit of comprehension for those who are spending their money such illconsidered. There is a lot of more expensive hobbies round there after all and this one doesn't do any arm...

The Kreanga Carbon combines a fast but somewhat more flexible and light carbon layer with an outer layer of soft fragile wood.  The wood is coated with a paint layer of some sort that helps protect the wood without changing the feel too much.   The result is a racket that is Primorac Carbon fast but without the "hard" impact feel that most carbon rackets have.  The touch and dwell is better so that the service, service return and soft play is more controlled and you feel a bit more grip during power play.

Cost over time is the real issue.   I think the KC is a great blade and I've tried A LOT of blades.   So, if your an equipment junkie who tries a new blade every 2 months, and if the KC helps you stop buying other blades for say six months,  you've just saved the cost of 3 blades.

i use to have the kreanga carbon and i thought it was crap, not nearly as fast as they say, not good for spinning , as soon as i changed to a different blade (yasaka gatien carbon) i could spin twice as much and have much for feel for the blade, kreanga carbon is not a flexible blade being 6.7 inches thick and plus the veneer is terrible for glueing even though they say its perfect for glueing , its much harder for the rubber to stay on than other blades. so all in all its DEFINITELY not worth the price , i let a few other ppl at the club play with it and they agreed , its fine for blocking and smashing but thats about it

I don't have any intention to own the KC blade, however because I never get to try on it so that why I just wonder what such an expensive blade can bring to the game, and I guess I must agree with all of you!!!

it's an excellent blade for speed.
i agree, not enough spin, i've also heard the same from others.
i purchased the blade a few years ago for only $94 U.S. from
Japan with a discount, so it was a good deal.

yeah, it is like any other thing. some like it, some dont. You have to remember that the price of an equipment doesn't mean the quality of the stuff. It is the cost for development and the material used plus the manufacurer margin.
As you can see from the look of KC, it must have taken a lot of time and investment from Butterfly, some inventive tt players had already made exact same sort of things themselves without that much pain and effort though.
Again the price of a blade has got nothing to do with its quality. You can get a better finished blade but it doesnt mean it is a thing that can satisfy all the players of all kinds of styles and preferences. Not every world class tt players are using 100+ dollars blade. They use their things because of the compatibilities between them.
I just believe, those who are saying something is no good, a crap, or just another piece of whatever, are all under the age of 20.

When it first came to the local market in my country it was very popular and many people bought it, but after a few months, most of them started to resell it, and now it has lost its popularity. I think it is overpriced, because the new J-pen Chiang Peng Lung Carbon using the same Unaxial Carbon costs about half the price of Kreanga Carbon.

"Show me a faster blade and I'll show you the KC has better control; Show me a more controllable blade and I show you the KC has more power".

If this ain't the ultimate medium that players in the know looking for, I know not what it is.

for me it's just for the brand name.
it's stiff, and the coat that haves it's polyurethanic paint...it's not a "special coat", dude.
