999T-1 is very tacky, I mean VERY. Regular have chinese sponge. Japanese sponge is nice and soft.

I am experimenting with these rubbers but don't have a clear answer yet.
National Version (from affordableTT) is quite nice BUT you gotta treat it or its quite hard, much much harder than the stated 38 degrees. PO is not enough to soften it up. I PO treated it but found it quite hard, and now have added CTE, will see how it goes. On the other hand, a soft sponge is not necessarily a good match for this topsheet IMHO. I got a sheet with japanese sponge from Tzai, and its marked 40 degrees, but must be a bit harder. PO treated this and its quite lively! Don't overlook the quattro and saviga sponge option - you might try those in 42 degrees and do PO tuning, as I am doing at the moment. I will post more impressions in the near future. Other tacky rubbers that I'm quite impressed with: Galaxy venus, LKT Silver Dragon, XSF Tornado II. That is roughly in the order of hardness but even the Tornado II, with its hard sponge, plays excellently, only downside is the weight. Venus and Silver Dragon are medium weight. Silver Dragon must be the most tacky, Venus the least, but for services it almost feels like cheating with how spinny these are, its great. |

how do i treat??
never!!, as the rubber is cheap and i dont glue often, ( i havent glued for 2 months) i think, i just wipe it with sweat or water after play and stick the rubber cover on to it.... and that's it I guess....
hahahaha i just dont care much after 2-3 months used rubber
now, it's 1 yr old rubber i think

the jap sponge series is the lighter of the 3 and the bounciest though the chinese version (regular) would be faster than the jap one and the national version would be the fastest

I used Tibhar CTE and that worked pretty well, on the first treatment i put about 8-10 layers on and it domed right up and was fairly soft. But you can tell when the effect is wearing off because the sponge does get rather hard, it's still playable but not as fun and easy.

I tried Globe 999 (Chinese sponge 2.2 extremly hard), the nationnal version 2.2 (Blue sponge), and the Globe 999T 2.0 Japanese sponge 43.
Globe 999 (Chinese sponge 2.2 extremly hard): Extremly sticky, very good controle, good for playing near of off the table, in block, and backspin. The Top spin, can be good, if you have a very good technique Globe 999 nationnal version 2.2 (Blue sponge) Extremly sticky, good controle, fast, a little hard, You can do everything with it. If glued very fast :) Globe 999T 2.0 Japanese sponge 43 Sticky but a little less than the 999 nationnal, good control, fast enough, good for top spin, especially when glued. I love it. |

I notice that the national version has more pips. This rubber is much more springy anyway. If you want to maximize "what good about Chinese rubbers", the national version is the way to go. After switching to this version, I felt the Japanese sponge ones dead and slow, so I gave them away.

It depends what kind of style of playing you are. I prefer the 999 Nationnal and the 999T Japanese sponge. All depends of the sponge. |
