meh....both topsheets are pretty grippy after you remove the film....out of the box h3 might be tackier but once the tack wears off after a day, they're about the same.

My BW2 is 40, Neo Prov is 39. Now, after 9 months of use, they play as new - almost the same in terms of grippiness and even better in terms of speed and power from any distance.

not more.
just a lot, but I haven't used h3 neo that long to compare.
with bwII you could use any hardness, none of them is a rock. I use 39.
with h3 neo 40 or less.

so ive got BW2 on my YEO now... i was a bit confused how to glue it on, since its pretuned with the glossy layer of glue on it... but i ve read before same old procedure (1 layer of free chack on rubber, 1 on blade and let dry until clear).... i guess it worked fine, im gonna try the blade today.
BW2 feels way more bouncier than 729-08 but a bit less tack(mild), by bouncing hte ball on BW2 feels like hard t05 + a bit tacky.
YEO was sealed by megaspin, awesome looking blade, comfortable FL handle.

cant wait to try it today. =]

BW2 lets you *BANG* shots by your opponent. It has disturbing penetration (even untuned).

Messing around with BW2 the past few weeks, some of my normal opponents (including an anti/blocker at my lowly level and a lefty LP forehand player almost 500 points higher) simply could not return any of my smashes or loopdrives.

Sometimes it feels like cheating ;)

ressurecting this thread to say

bw2 is not for me

i tried bw2 for few long sessions... here is what i came up with.
bw2 is great for drives, loops, smashes... etc... but its really hard (for me) to return backspin with it (except push).
The sponge feels a bit too soft and the topsheet feels a bit fragile. I used t05 and 729-08 in the past and i can say is that im more comfortable with 729-08 in terms of returning topspin and backspin than bw2 and t05. Dont get me wrong, bw2 and t05 are great against topspin but it was really hard for me to play a chopper when using bw2.

Note* ive been using the bw2 39 degree version. The rubber has nice click, for some reason im getting a vibe that the rubber was made of a mix of euro and chinese rubber. Mild tacky topsheet + bouncy sponge.

Also the rubber quality was not the greatest compaired to 729-08 (15$).

I guess im used to the "grazing" stroke, instead of hitting into the sponge.

Im thinking of trying H3 Neo comm quality but having some second thoughts as how it would play.

yea you need to hit into the sponge a lil with bw2. i've got a sheet of h3 pro if you want it. it's just laying around and i don't use it anymore...

I dunno. I never stick with a sheet of forehand rubber long enough to wear out (or even long enough to get used to it).

However, my two favorite backhand rubbers have more than 160 hours on them combined.

Thanks to an exchange with Mr Anton Chigurh I'm getting  some extended playing time Chinese rubbers, for the first time.
I really enjoyed NEO H3 Provincial. I now understand "gears" better than before. It has very good spin & excellent control.

I just glued up some BW2 (black sponge 39 degree... i think) & am excited to try it over the next two weeks or so... If it is more "Euro-like" than the NEO H3, I will most probably LOVE it. I will see.

What I am mildly surprised by is all the fuss that seems to be made between Chinese & Euro/Japanese rubbers. Sure they are different but not nearly so much so that adjustments can't be made... fairly easily.
Maybe my "level" and perception are not overly keen to their fine points.

I'm digging them both!
