Old Stiga Offensive Classic, koto-spruce-ayous-spruce-koto, that inspired DHS to make its Hurricane King.

Thanks - I am more interested in when this series was made - as I have been told that this is 40 years old.

Hi,
There are lots of people who knows this better than me but if I remember correctly name "Legend" replaced "Hans Alser" in a name tag not more than 20-30 years ago. At the 80´s offensive classic was called offensive wood. So what is sure is that your blade is not 40 years old. It´s a beauty toughSmile!

What is the point of playing safe shots when you can miss with style

I would guess 20-30 years old, but I am not an expert on STIGA blades

It´s probably early 90´s. If I remember it right this old Stiga logo was used until mid 90´s.

Yes, it's from the 90's or a bit later - too youg for me
I am not sure if this is still the old composition (with dyed koto). It looks more like dyed limba (like actually used).

If I'm not confused, the last "Offensive Classic" made in Tranas are from 1991 and that blade is not Tranas. Also I think that the first thicker fl handles made out of Tranas were still Alser. Then that blade is from middle 90's imo.

I'm no collector and have no intentions of being one.

Reason why I asked is that I have 2 modern 'hide glue' blades: a OSP Virtuoso+ and a Nittaku Acoustic.

The feeling & sound of this Stiga blade are WAY better than that of the OSP and Nittaku. It has a much deeper tone. Unlike the Virtuoso & Virtuoso+, it does not have a hollow feel.

And unlike the older Stiga blades from the 1970s, this is very playable as well: 92g, 157x150, 5.45mm.

So, just wanted to get to know a little bit about the blade. BTW: I looked up on Offensive Classic blades from the 1990s. They don't have the 'Offensive Classic' in white font and they don't have the lens in gold font.

Thanks for any information that you can provide!

Actually, Your Offensive Classic with white fonts was from the middle of 1992 to late 90's, manufactured in new Stiga Eskilstuna  factory instead of Tranas . This version has Dyed Koto as outer ply instead of Dyed Limba as the following version until today. Compare to the last one made in Tranas, it has only one longer lens instead of double oval lenses, different "Legend" script/font and a whole new handle color combination. There was 2 different " Legend" script/font at the end of Tranas era (90-91) as far as I know as I came across or own(ed) some.
