I think responding to english emails is a lot of work for suzuki!  I'm sure they will reply; when I got a warped violin from iruiru, it took over a week before initial response.

As long as they reply, I don't mind waiting a little more.

Speaquinox - Best of luck to you in getting this issue resolved with iruiru.  It sure is not fun spending money and ending up with something you are not quite happy with.

Interesting update; I just tried to send a reminder to Suzuki and the regular e-staff mail address but the message was returned. As seen below, Suzuki's maill account has been shut off. Confused

Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently:

[email protected]

Technical details of permanent failure:
PERM_FAILURE: Gmail tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the recipient domain. The error that the other server returned was: 550 550 sorry, no mailbox here by that name. (#5.7.17)

A fellow member from Haggisv's forum mentioned a new staff (Ms. Masuda) was hired for the same job.

Let's hope that Suzuki-san saw there were enough business opportunities from all the oversea orders he fulfilled while working for Iruiru and decided to start his own online shop.

I expected that, and I am happy for you. Do you have to send back the faulty blade ?

Nope. Actually I feel a bit guilty that I'm unintentionally profiting at their loss.

You should not feel guilty at all. Somehow they have to compensate your disappointment and the feeling of uncertainty whether you will get a replacement, and also the longer waiting time to get the good blade. If you are requested to send back the blade, iruiru must pay for the expenses.

What should I do to keep this splinters from getting worse? I want to use this one. Should I seal only or sand it a bit and seal after that?

BTW iruiru shipped the replacement today. In my case they once more proved to be one of the best in the business. Clap

Congrats, Spea! Clap  I would suggest you use some glue to glue down the spinlters as much as possible, after that sand it just a bit, and then seal.  I am afraid if you try to sand it down right away, you might end up removing more splinters and creating some pits in that area.  Try to keep as much of those splinters in tact as possible would be a good idea, IMHO.  Good luck.

Yeah just put some varathane / equivalent on that area and it should never get worse - maybe some people have inputs on crazy gluing, then possibly sealing, that bad boy will be good to go!!!!

So, one more question. I'll be using SP on BH. How about Coppa JO Silver on FH? Tensors good on hinoki? If not, hard or soft rubbers?

One thing you might want to do before you seal over it is to use something like an old credit card to press down those wood splinters that are sticking up a little.

Today, after some minor seal/sand job at the weekend, I had the chance to play with 7p2a for about 1.5 hours. Please note that I didn't try any all hinoki blades before. That may explain my suprise. If I have tried about 20-30 blades in the past year, this one's the most unique one I must say. Nearly vibration-free, very light and has great kick. In my opinion Darker's description text on the blade face is mostly true. I didn't expect it to be this powerful. I feel it's easily OFF. Very nice and strange catapult effect. Stiff, but quite soft. Looping , counters, blocking, hitting are all very very nice. I used JO Silver on FH and Sharping sp on bh. It seemed to be a very nice blade for tensors. BTW the blade itself is loud :). I just wanna try it with other rubbers, unfortunately I don't have the time.

I'm happy for you Spea, and I'm sorry for myself, because many people are happy with 7P2A but I find that I don't like my 7P2A Carbon CHNCry. But then perhaps I should give it another chance.

Sorry for you aeoliah. Have u tried any of the regular "all hinoki" ones? Maybe the problem is the carbon layers. Actually, even by just bouncing the ball on the my paddle made me feel that this blade does not need any carbon layers, and in some ways acts like a carbon composite.
