This stems from another joke - to make a tt rubber it costs only less, so why Butterfly is charging $65 and not $10 like other rubbers Tongue?

^Because its made in Japan, not china. The people who make these rubbers actually get paid, and the rubbers are higher quality. Like I only wear Japanese clothing, and its so much more expensive than American clothing.

funny: ive found japanese clothing to be cheaper than any clothing from canada, usa, europe for the same quality but much better looking than usa or canada and sometimes europe. japan is a huge fashion capital but they have many conscientious buyers. that said, i don't shop walmart and would not consider those clothes worthy of my time.

but japanese blades, rubbers, all sports equipment is expensive. i play badminton too and of course, yonex is king and it is expensive but there is no other manufacturer who comes close. the only thing japan does not produce as well as other countries seems to be bicycles and cars. otherwise, they are amazing.

and leather goods.

It doesn't matter where it was made. Design is the main thing. Most Japanese cars sold in the US are manufactured in the US.

I gave up my BTY Balsa Carbo, not because it was made in China, but because it is a flawed design... Eventhough it was probably designed by the same people who designed my TBALC which is a work of art.

And in their defence, Chinese products are getting better every year. They can make quality products too. Korea used to have the same reputation as China, but Hyundai and Samsung are getting better every year, and in fact competing with Honda and Sony. (That said, I would rather own a Honda, a Sony, and a BTY!)

Butterfly has great rubbers and rackets, though no part of my current racket is Butterfly. I use a TSP blade, with a XIOM rubber for the FH, and a Mizuno rubber for the BH, though I started with a BTY Sardius and a pair of Bryce rubbers.

i meant more like they do no original research. the cars all look like wannabe bmw or audi and have quite thoughtless control systems. what they do best for cars is wiring however. no european car can match japanese wiring. but the cars: bland as hell. most i guess are except for cars from europe.

cars: yes. ive seen them, driven in them etc. the are nice cars except for design. they all look like they were made for space, not the road. need a little less coffee in all the design warehouses.

What makes products made in japan better, to me, is the consistency of the manufacturing process. Particularly in cars, but also in TT rubbers too. The japanese just seem to meet the intended design specifications and produce alot less lemons than other manufacturers. At least that's been my experience so far Smile

It depends what you want translated. I'm working on all the names.

But I will only do the most important persons in Japan.

Its important to note that the final three, Kunihito Tasei (3rd in Japan), Masato Watanabe (7th in Japan), and #31 (plays for Nissan) feel that changing their equipment may do them more harm then good. But its also important to note that they messed up no. 31's equipment. He actually uses a custom Taksim (no lense) and TSP Super Spin Pips. I'll post pics too once i finish.

wiring?

how about engines, transmission and general quality control?

owning a VW = $3000/year in unscheduled maintenence
owning a honda = $0/year in unscheduled mantenence

european cars (vw, audi, saab, bmw) are even less reliable than american cars.

Yet I think that two of their two top players { Mizutani and Yoshida} use Butterfly I am pretty sure of that.  ;-)

Mizutani and Yoshida do use butterfly. Yoshida used the CN7 with Bryce for a while, until his blade was created c. 2007. And now Yoshida switched from bryce to tenergy 64. Mizutani used to use the Maze with Bryce and Sriver EL, but then I believe he switched to the Mizutani Special, a rare limited edition blade, that was only released in low quantities. He also had switched to Bryce FX on both sides. Then finally, in 2007, during the ATTC, he finally got the Mizutani ZL Carbon blade, and he switched to Tackifire on the back hand. But during the 2008 All Japan Championships, he went with Bryce Speed FX on both sides. Then soon after he switched back. Finally with the GLue Ban he switched to tenergy 64 on both sides.
