Micro Fiber Cloth cleaning for rubber
Those that you could get in optical and eye care shops, will it bring any damage to rubbers? How about getting rid of dust and those that sticks (eg. tiny cloth/hair like "dirt" on rubbers... sponge sometimes still cant remove them... especially for tacky rubbers... attracts dust very easily. |

I am using butterfly rubber care sponge but cotton-wool with water will also do the job.

Agree. Sometimes when I feel my rubber is a little bit greasy, I would just use the dishwashing liquid to wipe the rubber clean
Cheers.

high quality Micro Fiber cleaning Cloth with silky feel...
since it could be used for spectacle glass and computer screen... it should be safe to use it on rubber right? |

I don't know how it would be when wet. When you use it for lenses it is used dry, but when you clean the rubber, you have to use a damp / slightly wet one. Perhaps you can give it a try, but I think it is not worth it.

I use the 3m microfiber cloths and they work better than sponges, cut up chamois, t shirts, paper towels, and dusting cloths. I have used on both tacky chinese, and Euro/Jap rubber and work just as well on each. When they get dirty throw em in the washer.

They are microfiber cloths... those that are used for cleaning spectacle lens, camera lens, computer lens and glass. They're rather gentle and wont scratch as compared to normal cloth.
3M is one of the brands for such products. BTW, I think it is both suitable for wet and dry on lens and glass products... not sure abt rubbers athough |

Oh, I know 3M, but since it was written 3m, I was thinking that it is some kind of measurement in fineness.

put the rubber under running tap?
Sometimes water, sponge, rubber cleaning solution, cloth still can't remove the particles easily... they only shift from one place to another on the tacky rubber... sometimes i have to use my fingers to slowly remove them... btw i'm talking about tacky rubbers... non tacky ones are so much easier to maintain! |

Putting the rubber under running water will have a risk that the water gets inside the sponge and maybe also the blade. I agree that non tacky rubber is much more convenient.
