I'm sure most of you are familiar with the famous Ma Lin serve. Here's the original.

I've studied the video thoroughly and copied whatever I could, adapting to a shakehands grip.
Here's my version. Enjoy

your touch is awesome and your video shows well what is needed to do it like ma lin; the teaching value of your video is huge.

This one made my dayClap! I assume that the sound in a background comes from coaches who are spanking players that can´t master their ghostservesWink.

But to be honest your serves are really well executed with amazing touch!
What is the point of playing safe shots when you can miss with style

The best part of it is that those are really good serves.

I would send this to Ma Lin and enter the trick shot competition - probably won't win but will get major laughs.

That's pretty funny. Good work.

Also... Well done. Thumbs Up  My backspin serves certainly don't have that spin on them.

+1; I would only disagree on the "not-winning" prediction as I expect a majority would vote like me.
One major factor: making sure people can see a link in the trick shot video leading to other ones on YT where he plays at his level; that way people would get a good understanding on why the trick shot video has so much value.
Last but not least I would make a video with 2 videos in it: his and ma lin's, side to side, hopefully with a close to perfect sync.

The final vote is done by "experts".  They won't vote for him.

But after seeing those backspin serves, I have to take mine back to the lab again...

imo, the trickshot video will give him some fame - maybe won't win, but will sure make ITTF rich from lots of youtube views.

on the other hand, he can get famous with his own youtube channel and make some money too.

Heavyspin, can you do that?

If you can do that, I will try and get your video to the Chinese national team
Just not sure how I can get people in China to check youtube without doing all those proxy things

unstopabl3: the chest movement is not only intentional, but it defines the pec flex serve.

I had thought of doing side by side comparisons, but I doubt I could load the Ma Lin video into my editor. If I could download that video off youtube, then it doesn't have to be me to do it as anyone could download both my video and Ma Lin's and make a side to side.

I had some reservations exposing myself, so I decided to take it as a motivational tool. I'd like to reduce from a Ma Lin XXL to an XL or an L so I've created the possibility of a Ma Lin Serve Before and After video down the road.

You're my new idol. Being comfortable with my body is a big issue of mine and here you are showing off what you got. On top of that, your serves are great. You've got my respect. Keep up the good work.

Just send it as is. I'm sure people would recognize it as a spoof of Ma Lin's video. At the very least, Ma Lin would.

Thank you for the video.  The pec flex serve is awesome!  ITTF may like this serve too much and make it compulsory for us to serve like this!   Smile
