It's a secret.  I heard they would release the information in the middle of February.  Las Vegas for sure, with a more traditional format, but that's all I know.

I think the dates are July 1st-6th.

The Dates are July 1-6 and will be held in Las Vegas. Unless a decision was changed entry fee will be a flat fee whether you enter 1 event or 8 or what ever the limit will be. They were trying to put out the entry (paper entry) and online entry at the same time and it was hopefully gonna be this Friday 2-22. Evidently they haven't been able to get the online entry set up yet.

Thanks. The fact that on their website, they never listed dates or location, is crazy. It's a "5 star" tournament, and it's the end of February. How is that acceptable? I understand the entry form usually comes out late, as it is, but usually they have the dates of the tournament up, with a location.

The USATT has never had anyone that understood marketing.

The one fee for all events will again create many defaults.

online entry and paper entry are now available for the US Nationals. There are 2 fee structure opens. A flat 250.00 (early bird entry) and 325.00 after early bird. Also there is a 80.00 per event fee option. 7 event limit.

What is the player lounge for 50 dollars?
What is the VIP package for 99 dollars?
Does the VIP package include the player lounge?

You would think if they wanted to sell those extras, they would give some kind of explanation as to what is included.
Current Setup:
Sittiho Hinoki ALC, Baracuda(max), Dignics 05(max)
Official USATT Rating 1815
Current estimated level: Bad Day ~ 1900 Good Day ~ 2100 (In Asia since 2015, no USATT events here)

If you had looked at all the pages on the entry form  it tells you what is included in each package. It's on page 8 of the entry form.

Just another note. The Rating event eligibility date is 4/11/ 2019.

~3 month grace period is too high, IMHO. Not sure what's the reasoning here.

Okay, I found it. But what kind of drinks and snacks do they typically have in the players lounge? Is it candy and sugary junk or do they have healthy stuff like fruit, sports drinks, protein bars, and real food?

It's always been about the much of a grace period. They want people to be able to enter as early as possible that's one reason for the early bird entry fee rate. Since they've separated most of the rating singles to Adult and junior its not that big of issue any more IMO.

"at minimum, 40 (of 120) courts will be matted"

Welp that's a no go.

UPDATE: All courts will be matted! Good job Joola and USATT.

That won't stop me from going but it is a major letdown.  They have all those matting from last year and they just couldn't wrap their heads around the necessity of having good flooring every year.

And while I'm venting about mistakes in their planning, they've taken a major step back in doubles events.  The age doubles events are there as always, but i always discount those because they're SE and it's too easy to run into someone like Danny Seemiller.  However, there are only two other doubles events: U3200 and U4200.

I understand that the Open in December was a big flop, but from a doubles point of view, this is the worst they've offered in years.  Last's years ABCD doubles was good, but they make a mistake by putting in on Saturday.  Or they could have gone back to prior years with U2700, U3200, U3700, U4200, or something similar.  But, really all of those events should be RR.

I miss Gordy already.  Now there's no one left at USATT who understands anything about the table tennis playing public.

Late entry again. The last several years every Nationals and U.S. Open entry entry was late with one excuse or another. No prize money for rating or age events?
$3,000. for the winner. In 1985 it was $5,000. for 1st. Why such resistance to giving a decent prize for the winners?
It's disappointing that these events are so poorly managed. There is so much that could be done for the members.

Last year during the Nationals there was a beer pong tournament at the Westgate Hotel.  The prize money was over $100,000.

Dan, what spending should be cut back to free up prize money?  Does the USATT have a nice surplus every year?

To add to your point Dan, I lost in the semi's of the u2200 at the 1992 Nationals and my prize was $200.
Ma Lin introduced himself to a poker table and they all folded their hands.
They heard him say "I'm Ma Lin"

$3K for the winner of the US Nationals??? LOL

After reading the above, I saw that last year's total prize money for the Nationals was $50,000.  This year's national championship PICKLEBALL tournament has a total cash purse of $75,000.

The real problem here is a lack of transparency for the Nationals and US Open.  There should be public report on a complete breakdown of all expenses and incomes, so that people can actually analyze why things are being done that way.  Instead, it's all kept under wraps and it's a mystery.

One last thing. There’s no free T-Shirt for players entering the tournament either. Of course now that I think about it I don’t think we got free shirts at last years Nationals either.

Tables to be determined? That's a 1st for USATT.

Entry form without a table make is not even a legal entry form.

$109 per night in Vegas in July? LOL
You can stay in a 4* in Vegas for $30/night or lest... so I doubt that a lot of people will pick the official Hotel.. The Westgate which is not a bad Hotel is like $24 per night for that time..
