I'm looking for a table for home use and found the following advertised at Walmart: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?dest=9999999997&product_id=4183999&sourceid=1500000000000001245850
Anyone familiar with this table? Price is very low for a 1 inch top. Frame looks like it's reasonably sturdy. Thoughts?

Looks pretty sturdy. Looks can be deceiving. Is there anyway to see one and just test the bounce on it? All you would need to do is drop a ball on it from a particular distance. Was it 30 cm.? And see if it bounces the specified height. Don't just do it once. Do it all over the table. There may be dead spots. Beware of the dead spots. I hate those on my table at home. This looks much sturdier than mine at home. I dont know if they have the official rules of TT here at mytt.com, but they definitely have the bounce characteristics of a table rules at DTTW. Check them out. If you do get it please give a review!

This table is available online and not at a Walmart store. As such, I cannot do the bounce test. I was hoping someone has seen or better yet, played on this table and would be able to provide some feedback. BTW, I think it's made by Sportscraft, which isn't known for selling high quality sporting goods IMO. However this looks like the least expensive 1" top table that I've seen to date.

that looks pretty darn steady. 1" top is key imo. those thin wood top tables absorb so much energy from the ball and gives a horribly low bounce.

I have seen worse equipment than sportcraft, and they do a better job in their market which is the low end recreational player than most. I would take something stamped with sportcraft on it more quickly than something stamped with Spalding.

Check to see whether the surface is split down the middle (the long side). Because if it is, then you might get bad bounces there, which is TERRIBLE during a game. It's a much bigger problem than the table being slow.
