Is this new racket good? I'm willing to spend around 50-60 dollars for a new racket. But I don't know if I should get this or something else? Assembled or buy rubbers and blades separately? If it helps I would say I'm at intermediate level (I'm good at loops; use some deception in serves but only backspin and sidespin). Oh and this should help, my game is based on being offensive using spinny loops and smash the balls that are high enough.

The reason I chose this racket was because the rating says 100 speed 100 spin and 85 control. But I've heard that the ratings can be completely off and now I can't decide. So I need your help. Thanks!

This paddle is for beginner. It is heavy and do not have enough power. It is not fit for competitive game.

I agree!  I actually purchased one of these when I was getting back into the sport (over a year ago) after some time off.  It's very heavy, didn't like the handle, rubber not very good (Flextra).  Check out this Butterfly proline premade of the Korbel and Sriver-EL:  http://www.butterflyonline.com/online_store_productcloseup.asp?page=proline.asp&type=16&ID=28&pg=1&SortBy=&displayNum=50

If you're on a tight budget, Cole has a lot of great combinations of blades and rubbers that will work just as well as the Korbel / Sriver-EL.  Of course, there are many other manufacturers and countless other options that will fit any style, level, and budget.  Don't fall into the trap of thinking that only Butterfly makes good products.  They are definitely better at marketing and have more market share, but avoid those premades like the Carlos Chiu, etc. and settle on something that allows you to easily change the rubbers.

do not buy any premade rackets-they are good for nothing.
you can always ask guys here if they have someting that they don't use anymore.buy a used combo and don't worry that you bought second hand.second hand mersedes is better than in many cases a new home made analog.

For $50-60 you can buy a superb professional quality racket, that's for sure - just tell us what kind of game you are playing - allround, defense, control-attack, loop-attack, all-out-hitting...

I had this paddle when i first started too... it's REALLY head heavy! Other than that, I think it's adequate to learn on. For 60 bucks though, I'd buy a used bat from this site or something from cole's tt (www.colestt.com) or ppgear, etc...

That's right - even brand new Korbel from butterflyonline.com would be less than $50. Not to mention something like Galaxy K-5 or Dawei Wavestone (if you go for cheaper but decent Carbon-Arylates) or Galaxy W-6 (all-wood) - all from colestt.com and they cost even less...

Beside that korbel w/Sriver ELs set up, I'd be also inclined to get a Stiga OC w/ IQ Rbrs from Cole eparately or better still, get a nice combo (OC equivalent) from him with the budget u have now.

Then any of the blades I mentioned above could fit your style. I myself love good Carbon-Arylates (go with Galaxy K-4 or K-5 for about $45-$50) or Carbon-Control blades like my Galaxy T-4 ($35) but I am biased of course. Other loop-attacking people prefer all-wood blades with a little bit more spring in them like BTY Korbel or Galaxy W-6.

Do you really think I should buy a blade for $35? Because I still have to buy 2 rubbers within a 70 dollar budget.

Is there anything more recommended for me?

At colestt.com you can have him add two rubbers (at least as good as Reactor and better known to me) for $20 dollars if you buy a blade from him. He will even assemble your racket for you and will throw in a racket case.

Get smth like Cream MRS 2.0 on your FH and LKT Pro XP 2.0 on your BH - just a suggestion.

Yeah but that is really for the beginners...

I would say that K-5 is the best bet for you (too bad that Cole has sold out all of his T-4s at the moment) - it's the most expensive however for $50. Then hit the combo upcharge button and select any two rubbers from his inverted rubbers section.. as I mentioned before I suggest either LKT Pro XP 2.0 or LKT Torrent  2.0 - Black for the backhand, and Gambler Six Shooter 2.0 or Cream MRS or Dawei Inspirit Quattro - Red for Forehand.

If you don't want to reglue, then the choice is more or less obvious - LKT Torrent 2.0 black for BH, Dawei Inspirit Quattro 2.0 for FH.

All in all, $70 with a free racket case. Sounds like a pretty sweet deal if you ask me...

Don't forget to seal the blade when you get it before you glu eon the rubbers - spend 7 dollars for a can of Minwax Wipe-On Poly and follow the instructions on the Sealing Your Blade threads. Or just search for Minwax...

The Blue Thunder Glassfiber is a really nice blade! You have great combo if you put Inspirit Quattro with the softest sponge on both sides of that blade..

Blade: Butterfly M. Maze Off ST

Rubbers: Bluefire M2 2.0

Yeah, some people on this forum liked that one too. Apparently it is very consistent and sweet spot is large... haven't tried it though
