I want to try out Dawei IQUL rubbers on a Primorac 2000 which is a 5 ply all wood blade.
Thinking of IQUL Regular (40 degrees) on the FH but not sure what i should put on the BH. My BH is quite passive, i usually just block, push, flick and chop alot. Occasionally a drive or smash. Should i put the same IQUL Regular on the BH as well or go for IQUL SV which has a softer sponge (35 degrees)? Thanks.... |

IMO don't get the regular UL for the forhand. I personally tried it and regret it now, if you can go with the 35 degree. ColesTT is offering it if you wan it. I prefer soft on forhand so yeahh... For BH go with same rubber but harder sponge? That's what I would of done

I put some of the IQUL 35 deg on a TBS with Free Chack and it was really slow and not much topspin. But it was pretty good for pushing and chop serves.
35 deg unglued might work ok if you smack or hit with your bh, otherwise stick with the faster/harder stuff. Just my 2-cents. |

How thick was it though? Mine is 2.2 and it feels enough for me but maybe you guys want a lot more...

same here 2.2 UL reg. I think it has horrible topspin IMO. It's a good rubber for the backhand though, just horrible for forehand. So I would still suggest it and tell people to give it a try. On the backhand the rubber is pretty good, I would personally use it if i was at a lower level

I have used 2.2 35 deg. Its too slow. Today at my club I just borrowed my friend's racket and he has a 2.2 40 deg that is tuned and speed glued... It felt really good. Fast, spinny, with that click. Those rubbers are definitely meant for speed glue.
On the other hand there's a 1800+ guy at my club who plays with old unglued (at least not reglued) Srivers on his TBS and he's good. I couldn't get enough spin and power when I put an unglued Sriver EL on my TBS a while back... And there's another guy at my club who kills it with a $3 Walmart hardbat. So I guess its all about preference. But I definitely think IQUL is originally meant for regluing. |

How about just Dawei Inspirit Quattro rubber instead? Better choice then the UL?
Is the weight difference really that much compared to the UL? |
