These blades are said to be made of the highest quality of wood available...and the prices are way more expensive than the high end carbon blades. Don't know if it's worth the money.
Blade: Palio Carbon Japanese

Er...if u can read japanese, then go to nittaku's official website at www.nittaku.com

if i'm not wrong, violin is slightly faster. but they are not exactly for players who are looking for speed though, as there are other faster blades around.

Double Helix:

I play with violin and I think that is a very good blade. It is not too fast and it has a lot of control. It's much better than iolite, because iolite has a very bad control!

Blade : Nittaku Violin
FH : Bryce FX 2.1
BH : Sriver G2 2.5

Timoboll3, sounds like you've tried the Iolite before. How does Violin compare to Iolite in terms of vibration? I suspect that Violin (all wood) would vibrate more than Iolite (Arylate-carbon). Is this true?

Nittaku web site says, acoustic blade is thicker and softer than violin. (maybe a little faster than violin)

acoustic info

SPEED      10.7      CONTROL      8.3      WEIGHT      88g +-4g
BLADE SIZE      157hx150wx5.7t mm      GRIP SIZE      100x22mm(FL), 100x23mm(ST)

TimoBoll3, why on earth don't you play with one of those Timo Boll blades?

Double Helix:

It's true. The Nittaku Violin vibrate more than iolite, but I prefer it because it has more control and sensibility. Iolite is too hard for my kind of play, it will be good to play near the table, and I usually play with topspin not near the table.

khvn:

I've played for some months with Boll Spirit blade. It's a good blade.

Blade : Nittaku Violin

BH : Sriver G2 2.5

With these kinds of blades, your paying for the highest quality stuff available. I think its only a matter of time before someone tries to make a blade from ebony, perhaps even redwood.

Violin: I love it ! Fantastic feeling. The best of the new blades. My serve & serve recive improved a lot ! Pushed chops above the table is great because I can keep the ball low. Very good control the only think is it's a bit slow.So if the Acoustic have the same qualities + more speed that must be the best blade :) The speed is like Stiga energy wood or Butterfly Primorac: middle OFF speed. The head size a bit small but the handle is so Comfortable best ever !

I've got an acoustic.
It's probably a wee bit slower than a clipper.

The Acoustic has more speed than the Violin, but loses a little in feel.

Apparently Ma Long thinks the tradeoff is worth it. And so do many others.

The only advantage is that Violin has a penhold, and Acoustic doesnt have one yet?
