for information, PALIO is a HK brand, having a soft sponge and a similiar chinese topsheet
i used it for BH
hmm i feel that it is abit harder than the sriverEL, it is gd blocking and mid range attack or looping or counter loop. however when dealing with close table attack (mostly handling under spin), theres a problem of going right to the net. i think the sponge is too hard for me, i should be taking the deg36-38 instead of deg40-41
overall, it is a cheap and average standard quality rubber, just get the right deg i think will be fine

O.. ic..
I thought Palio (Never knew why they call themselves: People Always Loving It Only ) is a Chinese brand. So it's a HK brand? What about the speed and the spin of the CJ8000 Biotech? Is there anything special about this rubber? Have you tried it on your FH? |

Chinese? I bet some factories in rural China can produce every each single rubber we have in the whole world - they only need a good label machine and a printing factory next door.

it has better spin than H3 #19sponge
hmm.....about its speed, is like sriverEL with a little glue-on.
this rubber is like a chinese top sheet with japanese sponge
i feel that the rubber is abit bouncy for my FH, if u are play japanese sponge on FH, then u can hav a try. but beware that the built-in glue effect of each rubber is different, so u may hav to change the style of yor looping
i think i will hav to play a few times more, in order talk more about its durability and performane quality

When I got my first Palio product long ago, it was a palm roller. I laughed when I read the logo on the end. Basically, "People Always Love It Only"...is not too bad of a company jingle riff with what they had to work with......but I came up with my own version. Players Aggressivly Loop It Outstandingly.
The Biotech line is basically factory tuned for the post glue ban era.
Oh, and by the way....there is no "regular CJ8000" they made many different types of sponge versions with the topsheet I have seen. Cole seems to have alot of experience with Palio rubbers, maybe he can shed more light on the subject.

I've seen the regular one at eacheng. Must be the first of the CJ8000 series. Then they tuned it and pops up the Biotech ones..
What about their LP line? |

What Im saying is that there are so many versions of CJ8000, different top sheets thickness....different combos of sponges.
But my loops are not quite outstandingly yet. hehehehe

Actually the best palio sponges are sold seperately. The japanese GP series that you buy individually have always been better than the chinese versions, even though they do have GP marked on them as well sometimes.
However, with the biotech it looks like they're coming close to catching up with the japanese sponges finally. The bio sponges are still chinese, but much higher quality than the previous harder GP pink, orange, purple. Interestingly, when I tried a sheet of xushoafa like cargaragesales is selling after the ttman deal, it has a pink GP sponge on it. I would guess the whole rubber is made by palio?
Of the regular kinds I've tried, I liked one particular version best. The one in the green package with green dots. They list it as having a gp3 sponge, but it's clearly not the japanese version you can buy seperately. However, it's softer than the other GP sponges.
This was the regular version that I liked best I think, but it seems like the one I liked was called "light" and had bigger dots. But of the ones eacheng has now, this seems to be the closest I can find:
But none of the sponges are as good as the one you get individually:
I used to sell a lot of those sponges, but then I got the dawei ones and they had more cork and were springier. That was back in the gluing days of course.
For those of you that have tried the biotech rubbers, do you think they're somehow tuned?
By the way, I know the biotech rubber was developed for another company and was sold for over $30. And people liked it for that price, too. But now that supplier has gone to another company. I think palio decided to just make it for themselves.

guys, man, help!
I love that topsheet but have no idea what sponge i tried on it,
as you can see I am trying to replace my fh tenergy 05,
I have always liked jap sponges the most by far because they seem the most elastic flingy - but I want an elastic sensitive tacky topsheet as this cj8000 seems the first I have ever played with...
which one should I get. I want most possible spin on serves and good speed on looping away from the table at the table and most most most importantly fh over the table flicking

The best CJ8000 for BH is CJ8000 2-sides looping, it's 36-38degree. There are many versions, Biotech, Tensor and non-tensor version.
If you use speed glue, they are the same. But if you use water glue, the biotech is better. |

You should try it with a firm Dawei Quattro sponge, 42 deg. etc.

cj8000 biotech 40-42 seems like a logical one to try, coming from something with as firm a sponge as the tenergy 05. it is fast, medium-firm sponge, plays great from mid distance.

my experience is that the softest version works best - the last time i checked, they don't do anything softer than 36 degrees (biotech). i would stay away from those 42-44 deg or above ones. soft ones works really good and has to be one of the best value rubbers around (and suitable for both FH and BH), but their hard ones - i have no idea who can play with those hard ones (and i'm someone who find tenergy 25 soft!)

After many hours play last night - I found the rubber just to inconsistant when looping.
80% power loops were ok but easily blocked
100% power loops the throw angle drops to a straight line sometimes on sometimes dipping into the net or going off the table.
I think I have given up on the Palio idea after all this excitement -

Palio?
There's lots of talk about this rubber all of a sudden. Hmmm, am I ready for more experimentation? |

Tommy I think it was my fault, I search up the forum for everything with palio or cj8000 and brought all this back from the dead - where I think now I should have left it...
Im still interested ver very slight in 729 blue sponge stuff that has the most tacky topsheet
