i've used "drunken dragon" but it's really high throw and the rubber is way too bouncy which makes it uncontrollable. i can't block or loop well with it.
so i bought "hidden dragon" a month ago but have never used it. it's supposed to be much softer and easy to control. the biotech sponge is same as the cj8000 my friend plays, which is really good. hopefully the topsheet is not high throw...
i'm really interested to know how emperor dragon performs. once my dirt-cheap palio amigo dies then i'll try out my hidden dragon.

I just put the rubber on the blade and I could say is softer than Venus (39-41 degrees) even if it's rated 40-42 degrees,also is quite bouncy ,a little tacky (can hold the ball for 1-2 sec.) and it seems fast.
Tomorrow I'll try it.

Hi all,

I have used it for a number of weeks... I like it very much... It has similar characteristic with CJ8000 with better weight, speed and for smashing...

Even the sponge said to be slightly harder, I don't feel I lose anything in terms of looping. It is a high throw rubber in my opinion.

Cheers

Guys i have a couple of questions
just intro about this rubber I have tried this rubber on a diff blade on the bh so i dont really know how it feels on my current blade, also my friend bringin me a nittaku narucross ex soft 1.7mm that i would stick for my bh, but some reviews say it dies within a month some say it lasts long, so i am having doubts about this rubber for my bh rubber. so questions to ask:

1. Is biotech like speed glue version or some other?
2. What is the difference between normal version and biotech, like more bouncy etc

pretty sure the emperor dragon rubber have great durability but plz correct me if i am wrong, coz i want a long lasting rubber for my bh

Better weight means lighter or heavier than CJ8000?  Thx.

Hi Thaile,

It is lighter... on my blade i.e. Stiga Hybrid Wood, CJ8000 weights around 50g whereas the emperor dragon biotech weights around 46g.

Hi Matty, I hardly speed glue so I don't know whether the biotech is close to speed glue or not... there is no loud sound... I felt the normal emperor dragon (white sponge) is firmer than the biotech version (orange sponge). I like the biotech because I loop more than hitting...

Cheers

@Pongz,

Thx for the info.

@Matty,

The Biotech version rubbers are not even closed to speed glue feel nor does have the same sound.  I think they are just manufactured pre-tuned so it is a bit faster than regular version.  But they are worth the price.

Hi Matty,

I never try it for my backhand... because, imho, the rubber is a high throw rubber which means it is good against backspin but so so against topspin.
Since my backhand mostly block and when I do loop on my BH, I do it more vertical rather forward creating a slow loop. For this reason I choose rubber with a low throw... easy for block...

Cheers

I personally would prefer med hard rubber on BH and soft feel rubber on FH.  For Palio rubber, you can go either with regular or biotech version on BH.  Biotech version is just slightly fast then the regular ones.

Here are my thoughts about this rubber.(I'm not a good reviewer).

This rubber feels similar with Pro XP/XT ,but it's faster, spinier.,quite the same tackiness and light.It has a high arc ,very good for looping close-mid to table. It doesn't have a loud  sound (same as Venus) and the speed glue effect is average.Chopping (on BH) with this rubber was incredible even in 2.2 mm thickness.
For blocking I had to close the blade more.(than lets say my Express One).I've used it mostly on FH.
I'll try to make a short comparison between Palio EDB and Venus/Pro XP/XT (sorry I haven't tried any other Palio rubber-on sunday I'll do that with a friend's CJ 8000 2 side loop).
Speed-Venus>EDB-XT>XP
Spin-EDB>Venus/XP>XT
Control-All are very controllable
Power-Venus>EDB/XT/XP
Tackiness-EDB>XP/XP>Venus

So, I could say this ruber is  good for  looping (on FH )and defense,chopping (on BH in smaller thickness).
I'm not sure if this helps but I tried (I think this is my first review here) and if there are any other questions please ask.Maybe I'll post a short video about training FH with this rubber.

Cheers

What do you mean you are not a good reviewer? It sounds like a good review to me.  Perhaps I might give it a try soon...LOL

Thx.

Thx guyz
 looks like if the narucross ex soft dies quickly ( wat a dissapointment it was good rubber to ) i might change to the Biotech version because according to pongz its slightly softer.

haha thailie
I am kinda the opposite of wat u prefer i like those harder rubbers on the FH but i am still not sure about my Bh if i would prefer softer or harder sponges because i liked H3 for my Bh, but narucross ex soft is even better ( i gues more towards the soft side)

@Matty

Go with whatever works best for you coz what works for me might not work for you and vice versa.  But trying out new TT stuffs like rubbers and blades is the fun part of the game...LOL
