I am using DHS Hao 3 CPEN with FH:H3 and practicing backhand loop. Can anyone give me advice about backhand rubber?
How do you think about Rakza7 Soft, Tenergy 64FX ???

I've been using Stiga Boost TC (Max) on my backhand for many years.  I use Donic Bluefire M1 (Max) on my forehand, with a Butterfly Timo Boll T5000 cpen

I didn't really like Tenergy 64FX, but I really like regular Tenergy 64 for rpb on my YEO.  64FX felt a bit too mushy and noticeably slower for me where normal T64 provides a lot crisper feedback on my strokes and enough speed on loops to end points with little effort.

T64FX lifts backspin a little easier and is more forgiving than T64, but lacks that extra zip and spin at the high gear in my opinion.

Didn't like Rakza soft at all though, felt a little too bouncy for me in the low gear.

Most people would recommend Sriver or Mark V. Chinese pros themselves used to learn with Sriver. Don't know if they use modern rubber nowadays.

If you're on a budget Dawei IQUL works but it's heavy. Also I found Globe 999t Red (I found the Red version to be non tacky or a least considerably less than the black) Soft sponge to be fine for RPB. 999 and 999t also come with Japanese sponge. Those would probably be better options.

The best and and cheapest rubber for penholder's backhand is color sheet. Exclamation  Not to mention that it lasts for years.

he intends to use his BH as in reverse side :P

on another note

if you want something cheap and cheerful take either Omega/vega one of the variants apart from europe its waay too mushy esp vega version.

you can never go wrong with sriver. stiga mendo mp. boost rubbers are good to.

a more expensive rubber to try would be DHS Gold arc3 or a somewhat cheaper Tin arc 3.

if you have the money T05 fx works pretty well but is quite heavy.

i would say Boost, GA3 and mendo would be the lightest from my list

I have two other training partners with the same blade(YEO) and was able to try different rubbers for rpb. Currently I use what is in my sig. My two other partners use 05, which I found too hard and 64 very good but not spiny enough for me. I have changed my emphasis from drive to spin on my BH and so far 05fx is just about at the sweet spot for me. Initially I thought it was going to be too fast but then I acclimated to it and it feels perfect now. I previously I used 7 soft but accidentally got it in 1.8. Lots of control for sure but when I put more effort into spinning the ball there was not enough rubber to grab the ball with. Was not able to try it with max thickness so I don't know if that would have worked out better. However I get Tenergy rubbers for $53/sheet so it's really just trying to narrow it down to which one.

If your mechanics on your rpb are good then obviously I would recommend 05fx. If you are still getting the hang of it I would go for regular 64 but maybe in less than max to start and build you skill with that.

I'm glad to read two posts here are stating T05 FX as good choice for backhand. I've been planning to use that for RPB. I'm wondering whether anyone has experience with Tibhar Grip-S Europe Soft for RPB.

If you're just learning rpb, using anything remotely fast is a terrible idea. Wang Hao uses Tenergy or whatnot because he has world class control on the BH, and I'm guessing the OP isn't anywhere close.

+1. No offense to the OP though. Just that I find this true from experience. You could probably go Focus 3 Snipe instead (specially if you want to keep your blade light) or IQUL (not sure about the general weight of this rubber. Weird for someone up there to comment that IQUL is heavy when it's supposed to be "ultra light," so i'm not really sure.)

The UL is light compared to the normal IQ version, but not especially light compared to normal japanese rubbers. It's all you need. Softer version is better.

Also 999 on jap sponge is not really good for RPB, topsheet too low throw.

I have chosen Focus 3 Snipe, feel good. When I have finish my backhand skill, I will change it to Yasaka Rakza7 soft. I think it will be good
