Those video lessons are aired by CCTV, and the male coach is a senior researcher from the Chinese National Sports Bureau, and the female is a senior coach from the provincial team of Hebei  Province. As you can see from the video, the man is a master penholder while the woman is a shakehander.  Quite interesting lessons.

I've downloaded these files before. They take a player from the very beginning are useful, but that damn commercial music drives me wild. It must have been a series for Chinese TV. Those Chinese like noisy stuff. How else could you explain their English selection in KTV (karaoke)?

The index is GREAT. Thanks!!

The videos are much better when translated. There was a guy who was translating them on youtube, then he stopped and took them off.

The music is not commercial, just a classic example of bad taste in picking the theme music. The instructions are quite detailed though, and the lessons usually starts with demonstratin and followed by instructions on how to moe your body and when to hit the ball. The male coach is said to be one of the leading researchers on Cpen. I suggest you guy skip the practice part and observe the coaches' actions only. I found it helps a lot.

What I meant was . . . it's obvious this series was aired on TV by the way it's structured.

I wish someone would take the time of extracting all of the training and cut out all the music, practice, and divided it into two discs . . . cpen and shakehand.

Don't know if that could work. The instructions on Cpen and shakehand sometimes are sort of intertwined. Could be a tough job.

Can someone convert these to Quicktime for me and put them on a disk? I'll gladly pay shipping, and I'll take the time to edit it down to the training, not the student practice. :-). I can't seem to find a FREE program that will help me convert RM to Quicktime for me to edit with Imovie.

I edited the first 15 videos down to just the penholder instruction with NO students. I think it'd be cool if we had a total set without the commercial break, students, and lady instructor (IMO).

Use real media alternative for .rm files. It's a codec that uses windows media classic as the player. Much much better than using RMP!

http://www.free-codecs.com/download/real_Alternative.htm

Is this the only Dawei sponsored training video out there?

I uploaded all 50 lessons to SaveFile server because back then a lot of people complained about the Megaupload speed/connection and per-country slots quota.

I will try to upload them onto Megaupload next week.
