    Posted: 11/08/2007 at 9:45pm

Hey guys, I am going to get myself a new paddle for Christmas and have narrowed down my choices to just a few. I am a penhold player and here is my style:

  • I loop almost every forehand
  • I like to have good feel for the short game
  • I use RPB for my backhand and loop or block every one
  • I usually stand about 3-4 feet behind the table
  • I use a very spiny serve
  • I like to be able to block on both forehand and backhand if needed

The paddles I have it narrowed down to are:

  • Yasaka Ma Lin Offensive
  • Xiom Bolero
  • Nittaku Violin
  • Nittaku Ludeack pro version

Please help me decide which of these paddles is the best for me. I would also like reasons why I should chose that paddle. Thanks so much

Mike

Nittaku Violin, great blade, good control, decent speed, light weight (you can get something below 80 grams)

If $ is the issue here, then:
  • YMLC
  • Xiom Bolero
  • Nittaku Ludeack Pro Edn
  • Nittaku Violin

If NOT, then the items in that list should be th eother way round.

Tiehwen, why Bolero and not Requiem ? Perhaps because the word requiem has something to do with funeral ?Smile

no. From the specs. Requiem seems to be REAL HEAVY DUTY kinda cpen, thick, heavier, powerful n there4 may be like another SC Cpen. Bolero sounds good 2 me n also lean n mean. Then again, I might've missed someth'n there.
