well im planning to get an all wood blade (but not right now) and Ive set my eyes on the acoustic/violin. i did several searches but couldnt really answer my questions lol. still have some uncertainty.
now, alot of you guys would probably say yoiu can't compare all wood blades to composite blades lol. but i was wondering the speed of the acoustic/violin vs the speed of the KLH Sp. .. and I think that the acoustic is faster than the violin? also, how do the acoustic/violin play close to table and mid distance? how's the control? good at blocking and flicking? and how does it feel? like does it have a hard feel or a soft feel.
btw, my style is chinese style play.

Violin is very good, control is good and speed is also good. I am no expert, so I cannot explain in detail. The feel is not as hard as Schlager Carbon, but it is not soft either. How one hits is a factor to the speed too, I hit much faster with Violin compared to my friend using Sardius. | My Vioncello (which is supposedly the same wood as the Violin just with a bigger blade face) has a hard feel, but the ball feedback is very nice. It isn't a jarring vibration like a flexy blade, just a nice feeling when hitting the ball. I have no complaints with the touch near the table, and I can loop pretty well from mid distance even with a 1.7mm rubber. It is a great, great blade. |

Yes they are thin blades have a med/hard feel but give great feedback.acoustic is quite a bit faster than the violin.totally different feel than a kong special.acoustic is just a little slower than the kong.The reason to go with these blades is cause of the feel and feedback they give you.If you are a looper or a player who relys on ball feel and touch these are hard to beat.they both play good off the table.if you are more of a hitter than alooper you will not be happy and if you are looking for tons of speed you will not be happy.if you want an all wood blade that is faster but the same quality try a borko or if you want to save some money and still get a high quality blade check out visse,i was impressed by his blade ------------- Red Label Kim Taek Soo (83g) Almana Sound Synergy Tech (max) |

i bought a KLH sp before and sold it after some use. comparing both, power difference is minimal but Acoustic has a much much better feel for the ball. i would choose Acoustic if given the choice. yes its beri expensive, but den again Acoustic is really not a normal wood blade after owning Avalox P700 & Nittaku H-WL myself and trying lotsa of other's blade at the table. like what mdjenders mentioned, there is still some vibration and mostly is feedback from the ball it is crisp with little noise (unwanted vibration) unike those flexy weak blade. best of all, its a LOUD blade !! High pitch type which I jus love !!  makes me smile evy time i smash em. i dun suggest getting the Violin. i'm also more chinese style. 2 wing quick attack smashing driver type player. ------------- Viscaria Tiffany T-05 T-64 |

haha. its not like the Stiga Tube Aluminium right? I tried my someone's stiga tube aluminium and that thing vibrates alot! and I know that the handle is pretty small. But how small is it? Compared to the Iolite that is. I have an Iolite and the handle fits nicely into my fist, but Im kinda worried if it will be head heavy when I put the rubbers on...
but im guessing the handle size is close to the Iolite?
...well i havnt really tried a blade that has nice feeling to it. When playing with my Kong, sometimes I get a nice ball feel with it, and it just feels good lol, but not enuff to appreciate it. and I dun want the vibration to be like the tube aluminium! and just to clarify my style of play a little more, I am a looper =) I use mostly my forehand to loop and backhand to touch/block/hit. Sometimes if I cant make it for the forehand loop, I'll of course use backhand loop (depending on my position) |
