Anyone know what types of wood are used in the Stiga Energy wood blade?
Anyone know what the blue layer is?

I have not seen another blade with these blue layers, and have not found another blade with the same feel...

Cheers!

Energy has a Ayous core, blue layers are ayous too, and outer layers are limba..

The blue layers are ayous, but I heard it is not just a ply of ayous.  They said Stiga glues lots of layers (about 0.8mm) of blue-dyed ayous together, cut vertically (about 0.6mm), and that is the blue ply used in Energy wood.  If you take a closer look of the blue layer, you should be able to see it (lots of thin layers glued together).

Agreed with CY.  I once smashed my Energy to hell because I didn't like the WRB handle.  The blue plys were a bunch of very thin leafs of wood glued together.

Wow, thanks a lot guys! Yes the blue layer does seem that like, you're right! I thought the inner layer was some sort of balsa... although it a lot harder then the 'fat blade' balsa...

Cheers!
