I just got my new clipper classic and was wondering what would be the best thing to use to seal the blade?

I use sanding sealer some use polyurethene,on a stiga blade I would use the Poly as it's a bit stronger than sanding sealer and stiga blades need a good sealer.
Make sure you put an extra couple layers around the edge as you don't want the ply to seperate

Walmart, Home Depot or Lowe's.

I prefer wood varnish (transparent) because it leaves the wood in its original colour, whilst the polyurethane I use tends to give yellowish colour.

its hard to debate over what will be the best sealers, varnishes, polyurethene, and etc. ive tried most of them, be careful, coz some of them make you wood heavier. personally i always use hairspray, and they work great.

shellac, or Polyurithane are both good sealers.  shellac is easier to work with.

Personally, I have never seen an Acoustic.  However, from the product description (something about same process as stringed instruments) I would imagine the blade is already sealed/varnished.  You should able to tell by looking at the wood and compare to one that has not been sealed.

By the way, EricaT, how much is an Acoustic in the retail stores in HK?

ErikaT, you don't need to seal the acoustic. I play with it I know.

Spray it on a rag and wipe it onto the blade.  A little goes a long way.

thx for the 2 guys who replied to me

by the way, i bought the acoustic in singapore that is S$220 = US$144.77

i believe if u a going to buy it in HK, it will be cheaper, as HK is tax free on consumers( singapore does tax 7% on everything ) and there are more shops selling tt equips so there will be a competition on the goods, therefore cheaper

Interesting. The polyurethane I used comes from Ace Hardware (manufactured by Sherwin-Williams Diversified Brands, Cleveland, OH 44113 in a spray can, it said "clear finish, satin".
For some reason I have chosen this one, but the same product (also spray can) is available from Minwax. Is yours also in spray can ? Maybe I should get the Minwax.
