Cry
The crazy thing is it cracked during normal play, I didn't smack it against the table - in fact I've never smacked it into the table and this was only the second or third time I've played with it!  Those blades are flexible as all hell and I think this one just flexed so much it cracked.  I was practing with my son this morning and noticed this weird tick vibartion when I served or made a fast shot, before I even hit the ball.  After we were done I held the blade in one hand and the handle in the other and flexed gently - you could see where the wood in the handle was coming apart.

The good news is Borko is a member of our club and took the blade home to try and fix it.  The bad news is when we took the rubber off, you could see the crack all the way into the face of the blade.  I sure hope he can fix it.

I really like the feel and touch sensitivity of the blade, but if they are that fragile I'm not sure it will work for me...  Cry  Hopefully this was just a fluke.

Too bad. My friend also cracked his blade few days ago, when he was practicing loop on middle-long balls. Unfortunately, he can't fix it. That was his best blade ever!

Oh man don't say that!  Cry

I really like the feel of the blade, not to mention buying new blades/rubbers is getting to be an expensive habbit.

That's too bad.  I wonder if you can get it replaced under warranty?  I have two Samsonov Alpha's and have played with them for several years with no problems.

Loss of a blade just like the loss of a relativeCry but maybe on a smaller scale.

That's too bad, I feel sorry.  I have Alpha and it's very durable.  I can't count how many times I hit the edges of blade against table and it never breaks.  Once I accidently hit Korbel against net-post (while not playing) and it took a chunck of wood from it.  But with Alpha, I only get scratch marks.  I thought Alpha is very durable (it feels solid as well), but I guess the QC is bad then.

I did lightly seal the blade.   I can't immagine adding enough sealer/varnish/lacquer etc. to actually add strength to the blade.  That would completely change the feel of the blade.  Why not just buy a harder blade to begin with?  I seal it to protect it when removing rubbers as well as to protect it from seasonal changes in humdity, but I keep it very thin so as not to change the feel of the blade.

I don't think sealing would prevent it from cracking. Why don't you try to send an e-mail to the manufacturer to see what is their reaction ?
