Wondering if anyone has any longer term experience with the High Tune rubbers...is the effect really permanent, or does the "fresh glued" effect wear off over time?  If so, how long does it last?
Just wondering because this tech doubles the price of butterfly rubbers...wondering if it is worth it in the longer run.

The ones on presports may be duplicate. Please verify before you buy it.

I looked at Presports...not sure where they are, but they use a monetary unit abbreviated as "RM"...not sure how that equates to dollars though...
My real concern is not price, is is whether I am paying for a relatively temporary effect or a permanent effect.  Some of the pictures show the rubber shipping in a foil packet, which suggests an attempt to prolong shelf life by reducing loss of volatile components, which in turn suggests that the effect would have a finite life in use.  I would be willing to pay the price premium if it lasted for a year.  If it lasts 3 months, I would not buy it.  I realize that optimally I should be replacing the rubber more often than that, but financial constraints may prevent that, and I am concerned about how a High Tune rubber would play after it went "dead"...would I be better off just buying a high tension rubber such as Bryce or Sriver G2 and forget the High Tune if I am not willing to replace it 4 times a year?

Thanks, I tried it out.  They are cheaper than the supplier I have been looking at (megaspin.net) although not by a decisive margin.  5 bucks cheaper on Sriver G2.  They do not yet have Sriver G2 High Tune so I can't compare that, it costs $79.95 USD on Megaspin, whereas Sriver G2 costs 40.95 USD.

Sriver High Tune costs 63.95 USD vs. 29.95 for Sriver.

Hence my assertion that High Tune doubles the cost....

Interesting...we have a datapoint for Butterfly distributor markups...
At the quoted price, Megaspin, absent any volume discounts (which would certainly be present) is making a 25% markup.  That is not shabby for a volume distributor.

Guys, I really do appreciate the advice on where to buy and stuff, but, like I said, I am really more concerned with the longevity of the High Tune than the price.
Has anyone been using High Tune for a while (I realize it is pretty new stuff)? Has anyone noticed any degradation of the effect for which they paid so much money?

That is good to know that presports are genuine. I have not purchased from presports before. I've lived in Malaysia before. The country is popular for duplicates.

To keep the tuning effect, you may have to pressure box. Read the review on Pressure Box at %20http://www.tabletennisnetwork.com/Game/Blog/tabid/67/EntryID/24/Default.aspx - http://www.tabletennisnetwork.com/Game/Blog/tabid/67/EntryID/24/Default.aspx

I cut an pasted the URL into my browser...very interesting article...
Why would this technique not work with non-High Tune rubbers?

Just found this thread. Thanks for the info on the Pressure Box - it's very interesting!

For the OP, I bought and reviewed Bryce High Tune on my site.  Here's the link: http://tabletennisratings.com/equipment/Butterfly-Bryce-High-Tune-reviews/31,27/user-ratings.html - http://tabletennisratings.com/equipment/Butterfly-Bryce-High-Tune-reviews/31,27/user-ratings.html . I don't think too much of it, especially given the price and the claims. I found Bryce Speed to be more springy, faster, and more lively.

I've had my High Tune's for about 3 months now, obviously there's been some wear and tear but I still feel the effect, then again I haven't had that much experience with glue.

I got my Bryce Speed/FX and High Tune all from Presports, and have had no reason to suspect their authenticity.

I purcahased an Amultart from Presports, with Bryce HT and Neos sound ST.  I removed the rubbers because I didn't like how it felt and wanted to put on Almana sound ST to have a direct comparisons between my Hybrid wood.  One side of the blade had a few scratches, so I contacted Presports and they requested pictures, I am waiting to see how this will be handled.
QUESTION: Is the Bryce HT identified differently than regular Bryce?  My rubber only says Bryce on the front, on the back it says "HC-XXX-2.1mm-DT" (xxx is Japanese characters).
I am not bashing Presports at all, they have been very helpful and pricing is good, just waiting for a reply to my pictures that I sent to them, if you want to see them, go to:

Yeah, the packaging is rather like that of the PowerSponge series, i.e., metallic and rather (but not as) smelly inside.

The rubber sheet itself doesn't say High Tune on it, but you can see some funny smears (on mine at least) around the embossed lettering, suggesting it's some kind of different Bryce.

Thanks, but they didn't send the packaging for the rubbers.  I had them attach the rubbers because I wasn't going to treat them before attaching.  I never used Bryce before, but the rubber that I got is domed, so I think that it is HT.
