if they change now, they would have to waste time getting used to new equipment. In that time they would be better off training and travelling to more pro tour events. Thse guys have played with the same blade for years, changing now would sersiouly change how they play and getting used to it would be awkward after settling in for one blade.

Some of them probably have something in their contracts about what blade they have to use because it has a big effect on the business model of whichever company is sponsoring them.

In a recent interview Schlager was strangely vague about this... I forgot how exactly he answered the question but the gist was that he didn't really answer it.

ma long uses an acoustic that hasnt been around that long so he must have switched at some point.

i think all them would switch in an instant if they found that something worked better than what they are currently using. next year i bet you will see alot of swtiching of equipment

Well some of these players use the same blade for years and years, and they like to stick to what they are used too.

Schlager has begun speed gluing again and has just won the Euro top 12.

I think the answer to the question lies in this; do the top players need to use different equipment?
It is the amateur who needs equipment to help him play better, or at least so he is lead to believe, and I think in some ways there is help to be had, but at a price.
I found that some set ups helped me to loop very consistently, but at the cost of a reduction  in my capabilities in another area of play.  Some set ups provide good blocking, but lack speed.  There is always a trade off.

The equipment the pros use is still geared to allow them to make the most of their individual talents while still allowing then to do all things well enough.  They have the opportunity to perfect technique, this is something the amateur generally lacks.

I dont know how to explain it...I feel like I'm not putting spin on the ball but I know there is spin on the ball. I think It's because I've never drove the ball so much in my life.

Exactly the feeling I had when I switched from Sriver FX to Hurricane 3 five years ago! Almost no feeling but opponent poping the ball.
But I like it so much now, no regrets!

It's funny how guys trying Chinese rubbers think it's so different, yet for us (chinese to euro) there is hardly any technique change. Maybe it's because you're forced to learn to drive the ball with the chinese stuff, which works for euro stuff also.

use your legs to propel your arms and make sure to keep your wrist relaxed and hit the ball with the upper part of your bat
