Hi, I was testing my new blade: Andro Christian Suss Hinoki All+. When bouncing ball with bare blade, it is a pretty slow blade. Doesn't matter, as I opt for better feeling. Pair it with Kokutaku 868 Tokyo (2.2) and Tuple 007 Taiwan (2.2). It played very well control wise and still have the power to loop kill (not as great as my other Off blade). I glued them with Donic Copa Light since last week and haven't taken the rubbers off yet (so effect of glue must have long worn-off, if there was any). Now, today I got nostalgic with my old Andro JM Saive Off and glued MarkV Xs (max) and Sriver EL (2.1) on it, using BTY Clean Chack (non speed glue). To my surprise, when I compare the ball bouncing on both blades (with rubbers on), the All+ combo has higher bounce compared to the Off combo !!!! I haven't got the chance to stroke ball with them, I guess (logically) Saive Off combo should be faster (bouncing ball on bare Saive Off, it creates significantly higher rebound compared to Suss All+) but somehow Suss Al+ is bouncier with those rubbers. Is it the rubbers that effect this phenomena? Rather weird. What do you guys think? |

Doraemon, what's the difference between 868 and 007? Which sponges do you use on both? I got 007 euro yesterday but haven't play with it. They also have chinese version. 868 also in two version with same price to 007. About the bouncing thing... You might try again with same rubber, or better, with no rubbers with both. Dear Rokphish, I don't know what sponges underneath the 868 and 007. What I know is that they come with fancy plastic wrap. For 868: Green plastic packaging, titled "Kokutaku Blutenkirsche 868 Tokyo. non-tacky, 2.2 mm, soft". Sponge color is broken white. For 007: Blue plastic packaging, titled "Kokutaku Tuple 007 Taiwan, non tacky, 2.2 mm, soft" Sponge color is yellowish / cream. I didn't actually plan to buy them, but the store owner said that 868 Tokyo version is said to be pretty similar to Mark V AD and asked me to try. I agreed because the price is cheaper than European / Jap rubbers. FYI, 868 is rather bouncy and soft, not similar to Mark V AD in feel, but performs quite similar. 007 felt harder and consequently faster, it is supposed to be soft as well, but felt firm compared to 868. I agree with you, I should have put same rubbers on both blades. With bare blades, I have tried and JM Saive Off is definitely much much firm and bouncy, thus supposed to be faster. Suss All+ is more subdued, not bouncy and felt soft. One thing about Kinetic technology, it is supposed to reduce vibration right? YES, on firmer Saive but NO, on softer Suss. Actually Suss All+ vibrates heavily. I think flexibility plays major role also in reducing vibration. My initial conclusion is that 868 and 007 are not making this All+ blade faster, just it feels faster since the rubbers are bouncy compared to EL or Mark V xs. |

Is the packaging with no picture of mountain or something like that? If so, it might be the euro. The chinese version i saw yesterday comes with green overall theme with mountains/valley. Also the rubber doesn't come with protective film right? Just regular cheap paper? The chinese comes with protective film. I have not tried any andro. Thinking about it, though. Especially the two you have as it's quite cheap here. What do you think about the two you have? Well, actually the two available here are Suss Kinetic Hinoki/Explorer and Saive Kinetic Off-/Off. Saive Off-: Balsa blade and light. I never experience balsa so I can't comment. Saiv Off: Stiff, fast, bouncy and feel sharp. Ball bounce higher compared to Korbel (without rubbers). Control is excellent. It is said that average weight is 80 gr. Mine is 93 gr!!!! But it's not head heavy. If Saive truly uses this, it is quite versatile as I saw Saive looped and chopped from mid-distance. Head size is small. Suss Hinoki Off: Only bouncing ball with bare blade, it feels softer and slower compared to Saive Off. Ball doesn't bounce as high as Saive. It is rather stiff. Suss Hinoki All+: Excellent control, feel soft, a bit flexy, vibrate also. |

Yes, Saive Off and Off- are two different blades!! I don't know what woods Saive composed from, but I am very sure that part of Saive Off- is balsa. I think Andro website mentions it. It is also true the description from Andro website regarding Saive Off --> high ball rebound. Handle is subjective but I have FL for Saive Off and ST for Suss All+. FL is rather small but comfy, unlike that of Korbel that we both hate  . ST is medium and it is very comfy, unlike the ST of Mazunov and Chuan Chih-Yuan (I don't have them but once hold them). AN is a bit big in the middle but still OK, just it looks kind of funny.Hope it helps (while transmitting more EJ virus to you). |

Forgot about the rubber question you have. The packaging of 868 is green overall with picture of 2 worlds / globes side by side. You're right, no protective film attached, just cheap paper. 007 also doesn't come with protective film. There is picture but it's not mountain,more like a desert with small rocks all over the place. |

Yes, certainly the euro version. Thanks for the info on andros... Thinking.... Thinking.... It's kind of a hit and miss thing. Andro blades are not popular (very very slow sales here), so if they're gone, they're gone. I don't think they'll be importing more, unless the new stuff. On the other hand... | I think EJing is OK if you have your primary blade for training and competition. Other blades just to brighten the day, fulfill your curiosity, whatever makes you enjoy the game more. The problem arise when you keep changing your mind regarding which blade should you use mainly. |
