i personally like 2.1-2.2, 2.0 is too slow for me but a good beginner thickness, i never liked max (2.3 and up) because i was a close to the table player, i think the thick max was suited for two winged away from the table loopers, not including the newer generation thick topsheets where the max is 2.1 i.e bryce or tenergy ------------- BTY Viscaria FL FH: Black BTY T05 2.1 BH: Red BTY T64 2.1 |

| Some rubbers have a soft top sheet and hard sponge, so max sponge would feel harder or vice versa. I like max/2.2, because I feel that I top out easier when using thin rubbers. I think the universal idea is thicker rubbers are better for looping, thinner rubbers better for flat hitting and chopping. |

I can loop with 2.0 and enjoy the feel of the blade.

2.2mm... better for offensive plays and strokes like looping, more suited to an experienced player 1.8mm-2.0mm sponged rubbers, for more allround 1mm-1.5mm for classic choppers Ginko ------------- http://avatars.jurko.net">

I think it all depends. I've tried rubbers where going from 2.0 -> 2.2/MAX wasn't particularly faster, but provided different "attributes" since the sponge was thicker and allowed different things. That's my main experience with tensors/new generation non-glueing rubbers. Especially with Tenergy 1.9 vs 2.1. |

The only real difference for an experienced player is that 2.0 will be limiting your power. It's like having 3 gears in a 4 speed box :) you wont be able to use all your speed or else the rubber will freak out ------------- |

The thicker the sponge the more pronounced is the catapult effect if any. Also control drops a bit but spina nd speed go up (usually).
