I have a simple idea about how to get rid of boosters and tuners from tournaments.

1. Ask each idividual to bring their blade and rubbers detached from the blade.
2. Ask them to glue the racket with a water based glue right at the tournament.
3. Hold the racket for the entire day at the front desk in a case, except during the player matches

If the player needs to practice, he/she will use a spare racket. If the player is smart, it will be exactly the same set up as their tournament racket.

This process would work with one criterion. If the detached rubber is domed like a speed glued or boosted rubber, it should be banned immediately. If the detached rubber is flat and exhibits no dome, then it passes.

Sure it would be a little more hassle, but it would maintain fair play and it's not that much effort really.

i used to like juiced rubbers but I always liked to stick them on the blade when there were no dome anymore.

Bravo ! Kafka would be impressed !
I'm always amazed by the controls people suggest to enforce absurd rules.

This is almost exactly like it is already done at the ITTF tournaments - except for gluing at the tourney. But that doesn't matter - if you boost your rubber at home before going into the gym then what does it matter where you put rubbers on the blade. As for keeping the blades with the director, that's how it's done - judging by the text from USATT Magazine, that's what's in store for us at US Nationals this year (Dec, Las Vegas).

By the way, anyone going there?
