Hi!

I noticed these are both pretty thick blades, one 5 ply and the other 7 ply. Read great reviews about them both, but cant really decide. Tenor really intrigues me, while the Clipper CR just seems like a safe bet.

I'm coming from the experience of Hurricane King and Timo Boll spirit, so if anyone here could compare those two to eachother, as well as to my previous experiences, that would be lovely.

Best person to reply is Peter79.
I think that Clipper vs Tenor has somewhat muted feel.
Tenors are heavy by manufacurer's description, but mine does not feel all that heavy.Tenor feels very solid and becomes more lively when you start to accelerate the ball.Pairs very nicely with soft rubbers ,like STiga MP or Darker Vlon.Absolutely didn't like it with the newest Renanos bright.TBS is a nice blade, but a bit stiffer, which may complicate short game-no such problem with Tenor.I think Tenor's composition makes it medium hard.It is inflexible.

Tenor is 0,3 mm thicker than Acoustic. Tenor is 6.0 mm, Acoustic 5.7 mm. The difference is tenor has thicker outer ply than acoustic. Secondary ply and center ply has the same thickness.
The result : Tenor is a bit faster than Acoustic, has less flexibility when looping but more solid when hitting/smashing.

Compared to Hking, Tenor is noticeably faster, feels softer has less vibration. Hking is more solid when smashing though.

I Have Maze, haven't tried TBS. I found Tenor has more gears than Maze. Tenor has better touch and control when playing short game. When you hit hard, both have similar speed.

If you want to use H3 Provincial on Tenor, you must use at least 40 deg or 41 deg. 39 Deg is too soft on Tenor.
I found Narucross Ex hard a bit soft on Tenor, Gambler Outlaw is more suitable since it's harder.

If you like FL handle, Tenor FL handle is really nice to hold Wink

I'm playing both Tenor and Clipper CR wrb now. Both pair up with H3 neo 39 degree on the FH.
Slow loop: I get more spin on Tenor than Clipper.
Loop drive and smack the ball: Tenor is more accurate on ball placement than Clipper.
Control: Tenor much better.
push: Tenor.
Ball velocity: both is low arc but clipper is lower.
Speed: almost the same.
Feel: Tenor is a bit softer than Clipper
Stiffness: Clipper

They both are nice blade to play with but I prefer Tenor is my primary blade.

The FL handle feels like ST handle with abit bigger at the end.

weird that you would say that, since holda said that tenor is good with softer rubbers. but what ive understood, is that tenor is softer than clipper, whilst speed is similar but less solid. Softer blades should be paired with too soft rubbers i think. Sound pretty promising, but its so much more expensive. also i understood that tenor is less head heavy...which tips the scale even more. too bad its so expensive T_T. I sometimes think i am addicted to expensive blades....

Especially that first part- I'm pretty sure that blades don't make placement and accuracy.

I think a good thing to take into consideration is that the majority of the players in china use a clipper of some sort.

After adjusting from Hurricane King, I am very satisfied with Clipper CR. I can get just as much spin with more power. It's more solid. Stiffer, but a bit softer. You can really smack the ball well too. It's got a bit less control than HK.. but any blade will until you adjust. Especially considering the price difference, and the popularity of Clipper CR... I'd get the Clipper CR.

Tenor is ideally balanced-top of the blade is not heavy!what i and peter said may be based on that we play somewhat differently.tenor is a good safe option, just too expensive.I personally think soft rubbers are better, because the harder ones are kind of difficult to block, loop with.touch is also inferior with harder rubbers attached to tenor(IMO).

but is tenor really that fast? i cant really imagine that, since you all say its pretty soft. only thing supporting its speed is its thickness i think, or is it its center core which is like tung tree or something..?
