Who do you hope to get the last fought ticket? I would love to see Wang Liqin or Wang Hao. Not Ma Long as he will definitely be selected by coaches by virtue of being no 1.

I guess it depends on who is in the most trouble with the team authorities for having dared to have women in their lives.

what do they formally promise for this trial? are they selecting just one more member of the team, and the rest will be appointed by the coaching council or smth?

What is actually so important about this?

It doesn't matter who will play, they'll win anyway, it would be even smarter if LG says: "Okay guys, who wants to Moscow?,, xD

It's important for the players - if you're selected, you know you'll be able to call yourself a "world champion" soon. That would be a big deal for someone like Hao Shuai, who doesn't have a world title yet.

What was Liu Guolang saying at the beginning of the match between Ma Long and Lei Zenhua?  And why there are two rows of players?  The row on the left are the main players and the one on the right are the challengers?  I do not see Xu Xin in this one.

The boys in trouble water are Ma Lin, Wang Hao and WLQ. Ma Lin is busy hiding money and his assets from his divorced beautiful actress wife who wants to undermine his financial security. Wang Hao never stops dating his beautiful fellow female National Team members. WLQ is seen dating with a famous beautiful actress.

With all these unwanted romances among National Team members, there is no surprise that Head Coach LGL has to keep reminding these Romeos about the legendary story of Tiger Wood. Pretty women are dangerous. They are not only going after their bodies, but more dangerously they are going after their souls and money. Forgive me, not all women are like that, perhaps only a small percentage of them is.

For a quick fix, Ma Lin has to settle his divorce case as quickly as possible by satisfying his wife's financial request. He just has to work harder to make those money back.

Wang Hao has to avoid bodily contact with his new girlfriend for a long while not until the 2012 London Olympia is over. Eye to eye communication and MSM are permitted. That takes a lot of discipline on him.

As for WLQ, there should be no more karioki parties with beautiful chicks around and no more playboy magazines which are not considered appropriate or healthy educated reading materials anyway in China.

Can someone explain how this selection system works?
So even if Li Ping beats Ma Long (and I know the chance is slim), Li cannot go to Moscow? Does it have to be players on the A team? Does the head coach have the final say on the remaining spots?

So, Li Ping can go to Moscow IF (big if!) he beats Ma Long?
Also, Ma Long can still go to Moscow even if he loses but got picked by the coaches?
Ma Lin, Wang Hao, or Wang Liqin, or others can still be picked?

I'm watching the vid of Li Ping vs. Chen Qi and the coach commentator says Li is using Donic rubbers on both sides (didn't say which one), because he's a training partner who imitates Euro players. Then he went on to say he sacrifices a lot for the country not to use the Hurricane. He's saying the "foreign" rubbers are vastly inferior LOL

Wow that sucks man. He sacrificed a lot for sure. In order to better serve his country he needs to play an inferior technique with inferior rubbers. At least he gets proper training though. He probably plays the style better than the European players play it. Hahaha

Now the final, Chang Chenchen vs Guo Yan.

A different woman (Liu Shiwen?) is doing the commentary now, but in the first match I think it really was Zhang Yining.

Ma Long 3-0 Li Ping (11/9, 11/6, 11/7)

Easy to tell how delighted Ma Long and LGL are just by looking at their eyes.

Li Ping also openly admitted Ma was superior in many aspects of the game.  LGL said Li has shown the crowds his level of play.

And so the three youngsters who hopped on the Moscow-express are Xu Xin, Zhang Jike and Ma Long, leaving two spots only for the trio: Wang Liqin, Ma Lin and Wang Hao.

Ma Long, Xu Xin, and Zhang Jike have gone through.  I think these will be China's new Aces.
Have the coaches given any hints who they will pick for the remaining spots heading to Moscow?  Will they make a decision soon?

Now the final, Chang Chenchen vs Guo Yan.

A different woman (Liu Shiwen?) is doing the commentary now, but in the first match I think it really was Zhang Yining.

Tuned in just in time.  It is Liu Shiwen.  Guo Yan came out winning and Liu summed up the match.

The 2010 trials are over - now it's all up to Liu Guoliang and Shi Zhihao.

The world championships will be boring in comparison...

y'know, i don't think i've ever seen ma long that determined to win.  he really, really, really wanted that game.  li ping had no chance from the get-go...

anyhow, like i said above, i think wlq is "automatically" in, so the only question mark is the final spot.  will it be ma lin or wang hao??

LGL said , "WLQ, MaLin and WangHao care about the result VERY MUCH, even than Ma Long himself".

Yes, WLQ MaLin and WangHao were very nervous, even you can say , MaLong is fighting for them instead of himself.

I know it won't happen, but i really want them to take Chen Qi.  I imagine he has been working really hard lately, because I have never seen him play as well as he did at the German Open.

Yes, Chen Qi has played well but I don't think he will be in.  He is young and he will have another opportunity in the future.
I think the remaining 2 spots will be given to Wang LQ and Ma Lin; this will be their last world team championship.  This is a reward for what they have done for Chinese TT.  Wang Hao? -not in good or acceptable condition so Wang Hao will be left behind.  This is my prediction.
It is good and beneficial to have at least one veteran on the team.

I always like to watch his game either if he was winning or losing.. sure I wish that he wins most of the time being his fan, but watching him play and observing his technique is very nice and special.

Is anyone familiar with how the coaches pick these "spoilers" like Li Ping and Lei Zhenhua to play in these trials? I was actually hoping to see Zhang Chao but he seems pretty far from these trials.

Before the second and third trials there was a tournament of the B players - Lei Zhenhua and Li Ping won, the coaches did not pick them.

Well, from the first, second and third trial, the one who played very well but lost narrowly is Hao Shuai. Hope he got a chance to become world champion also as he is the only one of those veterans who never won anything major. Another spot should go to Wang Hao because he is relatively young and will be there in 2012 Olympics but not WLQ and ML, I think.

Do you know where to find results of this tournament?

Between the first and second trials there was a tournament of the No 9 - No 16 of CNT , Lei Zhenhua  won and took XuXin's place. LGL told CCTV5 that Lei Zhenhua won easily.
Before the second and third trials there was a tournament of the No 10 - 17 of CNT , Li Ping won and took Zhang Jike's place. Somebody said Li Ping won very difficultly, A player named Zhang Chao made him a lot of trouble.

Now many many Chinese think there should be five rounds "Moscow Express".  Look at Wang Hao, Ma Lin, Wang Liqin, all hope LGL's taking care, all like SH*T.

ZJK and XX are not consistent enough to play major roles in the Team worlds,  unless China wants to give other country a chance to beat them. The big 3 are still better at dealing with foreign players, except Wang Hao who's in terrible shape right now...

They need experience in big tournaments so they can learn to play under the international pressure against new people they don't know well. Wang Liqin and Ma Lin are getting old, they can't stick around forever, the youngsters have to step up and a team championship is the best place to do it at, even if one of them fails hard at it, the others are still almost unbeatable.

Agree.

In the world of professional TT, older players must step down to make room for the younger players when the right timing has come. Audiences love to see new faces and new talents too.
