It is yet another post about Tenergy05...
After playing a year without Tenergy05 I finally used my friends setup (which included tenergy05 and spinart) on a TSP carbon blade the other day at practice. And after playing with the tenergy05 again, boy oh boy! I am having some withdrawals Wacko I miss using tenergy 05. I am happy with the IQUL, but it just isn't the same feeling. Anybody experience this?

I'm looking to move away from the Tenergy series...however it should be pretty obvious that Dawei wouldn't come close to stacking up :/

Inspirit doesn't make much spin compared against most rubbers but it's still a nice rubber for the price :). It's not something you can compare to the really high spin rubbers though

Tenergy 05 >>> IQUL

Mostly because of the sponge.

Hey guys, there is a misunderstanding of words here. I never said I wanted the IQUL to be like tenergy05. When I said "it just isn't the same feeling" I meant that when I used the Tenergy05 my strokes had more power and I could end the point on a spinny 3rd ball attack whenever I was able to control it; but now that I'm using IQUL, a part of me still misses being able to have that kind of power again but I do have more consistent control with the IQUL. I know for my playing style I needed something cheaper and something I could control better and someone recommended me to IQUL. I know IQUL will never compare to Tenergy05. I'm just saying that I miss having the power that was in Tenergy05. The fact of the matter is that Tenergy05 was too fast for me.

Why are you getting a faster blade? Tenergy is pretty fast but it's for sure not any faster than most modern rubbers, slower that a lot of them actually. I think most of the options to replace it are every bit the same speed if not faster. Finding speed to replace it has never been the problem for people, finding the same spin in another non tacky rubber has been the issue

snake_eyes, why don't you use Red Diamond on a slower blade? you'll get more point ending power than Inspirit and still great control (better your current setup with the slower blade I bet)

Time without is not only for you - I actually found difficulties not only readjusting to the very different angle but also trying to go back to my ishlion.

Don't know what happened over the last few months of avoiding blade or rubber.  I am starting the new season of fixtures with blitz backhand 05 fx forehand because I can control the fx better now even though it isn't as deadly all this on my Yasaka balsa blade.

I have been blogging in detail about how this all came to be but still can't understand it.

You are spot on! My previous setup was Primorac off- with the IQUL on both sides. The only reason why I am using the Maze and IQUL setup is because I broke both of my primorac off- paddles :(

I have been thinking of saving up some money to try either Galaxy Moon or Galaxy Sun and/or those new Xiom rubbers; there's a lot of buzz about these rubbers. I've never heard of red diamond how does it play? Is it more of a chinese tacky rubber or euro grippy rubber?

Friends.
I dare to suggest here that the Tenergy rubbers is rather an unwise investment of your money unless you reach up to the profi level play.
The rubber does offer a bulk of speed while lacking of accuracy and control in strokes.
So. my decided choice is a well balanced setup with a decent control and speed, that TIBHAR Legend 1.8(FH) + Legend 1.5(BH)
This would allow me to always keep up control at every shot and thus crush the Tenergy holders down in most matches.

The rubber doesn't lack anything.  It is the players that do.
T05 is very responsive.   It will respond poorly to poor strokes and passive strokes.

It's not often, but here we do agree Pnacthwey.

Actually, the main reason I'm so in love with the T 05 is the control I get with it. Second, the amount of spin I can generate with it. I'm always surprised when I read that people miss the speed from the Tenergy as the speed (on the T 05) really isn't that special and can easily be matched by most other high end rubbers.

T05 has very good control, relative to some of the other new rubbers around. The ball always lands on your enemy's table because of the high arch. T05 has a high spin to speed ratio which makes it very consistent. From an attacker's point of view, only hard tacky rubbers are more consistent, but they require good technique.

Ok well I guess what I miss about Tenergy05 is the fact that I didn't have to put too much effort in a stroke for it to be fast and "spinny." For example, when I can 3rd ball attack after an underspin serve and return. Right now with my IQUL I have to put much more effort into my stroke to have anything close to what spin and speed I had when I used Tenergy05, and it still doesn't come close. And I'm not looking for IQUL to be like Tenergy05 at all either, because I know it doesn't come close. I'm just saying that I miss having to put forth less effort into a stroke for the occasional 3rd ball shots. With IQUL it has lead me to play more consistent though and that's why I like it, it also helps that it doesn't cost much and lasts for a long time.
