Overall, they are good. The price is mostly due to the two names you're paying for:  Timo Boll and Butterfly.

Used to play with a Timo Boll Spark, and it's a very good blade, well worth it's price tag (about €75). Unfortunately, it has been discontinued and the price of the newer Boll series has skyrocketed since.

I have both spirit and alc, and they are really good. I bought the spirit after I played with my friends because the feeling of the blade was really nice. Price, it is high. They used to be a reasonable price, not now though.

I played with a couple Timo Boll all wood blades (Off- and All+) and they are both very good blades and not really that expensive.

I've played with the Timo Boll Spirit, ZLF, and T5000, and all are very good. They are not too expensive, less than $200 each. They have a nice lively feel despite having carbon, and no vibrations. As a penhold player, feel is important.

That TB ZLF especially, is amazing for looping and has great touch.

For the quality and playability, the TBS is a good value.

Just get a galaxy k4 (tbs clone-ish) and save your money :).

Posted By: arg0
Date Posted: 10/03/2011 at 6:01pm
K4 is among the old-gen Yinhe blades and is much stiffer than TBS. So better get a used TBS (or M.Maze OFF) if you want the real thing. Sure, it's expensive, but still less than the new Timo Boll blades!

PS: Anyone knows more funny ways to misspell Tymo Böll's name?

EDIT: or, consider Yinhe V-14, which is the evolution of the K-4 and uses Yinhe's new drying and glueing technology, which apparently does not affect the blade's stiffness.

i don't care about price, I usually refer it as a one time money so which TBS is best for looping ?

I usually loops from both the sides.. also will real fast power of that blade overcomes the spin of loop ?

what's best for loop/spin TBS or Michael Maze ?

I prefer MM more than TBS.
It easier for me to kill loop with MM.

That was last year.

@OP, expensive is a relative term. Look for value in TT equipment. Good equipment will last you years and is therefore a good value.

anyone yet compared them both for looping ?

I'm pretty sure the TBS is better at looping. That's why Michael Maze (the player) switched from Michael Maze (blade) to the Timo Boll Spirit.

Neither TBS nor MM are good at looping close range where most people play. They are good for looping far away from the table though. The arch on these blades is significantly less than the TB ZLF or most wood blades.

With T05 it's fine, but with a lot of rubbers the flatter shots on the TBS tend to go off the table.

If you want a good allaround looping setup, get T05 on TB ZLF. It's a looper's heaven. Every ball lands on the table even if you are using bad technique.

so what's difference between TBS ZLF & ZLC ?

and are you damn sure they will work with that rubber for looping because  I am serious to buy it and my father told me that he will not give me any more money for racket after this one...

that's why I need to confirm, please don't mind :)

thanks

the ZLC is faster than the ZLF. the ZLF is a good control blade but IMO it lacks put away power from mid-distance.

+1.  Yes,  that's call technique. it does take skill to land the ball on the table.

I agrees too, but I am satisfied with my technique because whenever I find some mistake in any of my technique, I start improving it.

ZLF looks better I think because of its control part as jt99sf said and forehand I think T05 would be the best..

Looking for advice for backhand sheet T65 or Brice ?

I Got good control at my backhand side, so I don't really take care of control, I only need top spin skill and speed because I usually rolls or brushes the ball from my backhand side(small top spins above the table) which usually successfully lands the opponent's table. and that always give me another chance to hit power top spin or loop.

Waiting For Reply.

Thanks

I heard that xiom pro 2.0 have less speed/spin then tenergy ?

Is that try ?

so now 4 options are their : t64/t05/brice/xiom vega

I think t05 would be better because of its sponginess  ? what's difference between 05 and 64 ?

waiting for reply.

thx

yes it can be confusing because both are good blades and it comes down to personal preference, hence the difference in opinion, maybe some of your club members have these blades then borrow then and do some drills and you choose what suits your game well

It really depend on your personal preference.
Borrow from others and try it yourself.
Find the most suitable one for you.

yeah I finally decided to go with Timo Boll ZLF
and for forehand side Tenergy 05 as it got speed/spin/ more control as I seeks for control at forehand side.

Now I need some advice for my backhand side.

I got good control their and hits usually hits small top spins from above the table (and stays  closer to table) but when I receive top spin at my backhand side, I usually blocks it. By small top spins I meant rolling the ball from backhand side whenever someone give me backspin at backhand side. so that I get next ball to hit a bit harder with power.

Waiting For a good advice like I got for forehand :)

thanks

thanks

did you try to use T05 on BH? some say its too hard for a BH rubber but i prefer T05 on both FH and BH, i tried using T64 IMHO its softer and faster than 05, do you prefer a softer or a harder rubber for your BH?

Posted By: Lipitive
Date Posted: 10/05/2011 at 3:52am
I want hard rubber for backhand side as I am currently using Mark V on both sides, and I feel that its bit harder.

any ways finally decided to go with Timo Boll ZLF and Tenergy 05 FX both the sides.

any comments ? on Tenergy 05 FX and the normal Tenergy 05 ?

fore forehand I have decided to go with Tenergy 05 FX (due to its control) with Timo Boll ZLF

for backhand I am still confused between Tenergy 05 and Tenergy 05 FX ?

fx would be wise for a backhand rubber.. I personally dont like t05 or fx for forehand unless you are trained to use it. :)

I only have one club in my city and that's all I can pay for.. no possibilities for leaving this city and go somewhere else to get good coaching of it.. as I know I play this game regularly but not professionally, I know I can defeat almost all professional players in my city or even in my state.. but still I compete them them only once in a year, I play this game because I love to play it :) not for winning tournaments or something like that, but buying such rackets because I want to enhance my game..
