i've longed to review this blade because seeing at the pictures online it looked beautiful. A lot of people are first attracted to the blade's looks and its a common thing. I was however more interested in how it plays.  Weight: 92 grams Plies: 5 (outer is definitely koto, i can't see the inner layers because it has a side covered by a layer of wood around the blade head.) Thickness: 6.9mm-7.0mm (yes its thick) Size: 151x155mm Rubbers used: Tibhar Aurus Soft and Tibhar 5Q Speed: OFF  The blade is a finely crafted all wood blade. Basing on its looks and finish it looks like it came from the same factory that made the Black devil and Epox blades. The blade is colored black but the outer ply because of its minute squarish design on its grain is obviously koto. It has a different design because there is no continuity of the blade head going to the handle. Instead of constructed as one piece made up of many layers, it is composed of several parts that interrupts the continuity of the wood. The handle is a bit thicker than other Tibhar blades which i like because i have big hands. The handle is about 1.5-1.9mm thicker than its brothers.  the good: very solid feel - hitting and driving the balls produce solid shots. it gives a semi hard feeling and you can feel the power on your strokes. it has average dwell time for a blade though i still felt the ball sink a little into the sponge when I used both the 5Q ans Aurus Soft. Smashing - a very good smasher's blade with good accuracy and control. I would rate its speed as slightly lesser than a mazunov by about 10% but nevertheless still very fast. I doesn't feel as stiff as other attacking blades and it has less vibration. loop drives - its very good on loop drives due to its solid feel and presents a low arced loop drive hitting the ball off the bounce. I would rate it above average on slow spinny loops. I think this is not a pure looping blade. Blocking and counters - very good for both. The passive blocks and punch blocks are very controllable. Countering gives ample speed and control. This blade is built close to the table up to mid distance. cons: Weight - a bit heavy for some people. It needs to be paired with a lighter rubber on one side. Conclusion: Overall a very good compact attacking blade. A well balanced blade on attacking and defensive capabilities. I rate this as a likely 8.5/10 blade. I recommend this to players who wants a blade that gives solid shots on their strokes with a balance on control. thank for the review, for a compact head size blade 92g is definitely heavy! The Stratus Powerwood I use has a thick comfy FL handle and is a regular size head. Most other Tibhar blades seem to have the compact head size. ------------- Stratus Powerwood FH T05 BH T25 |

Hi Yogi Bear. Thanks for review. I used Sigma Sensitec for 9 moths. Because of no responses and feedback vibrations of blade, I sold it. It is rigth for the Sigma Sensitec is not pure looping blade. I realised this changed it with Stiga Clipper CR WRB.
I like the feeling of Clipper. But I wish to know that which blade has a long dwell time and you suggest for pure looping? And Clipper Cr Wrb is a suitable one for poor looping. Or I am still using wrong blade? Thank you for help already.

Sorry for my stupidity but what is the difference between compact and regular head size? By the way I can't help falling in love these blades, they look wonderful. I guess I'll sell my belongings and buy one of them at least. Thx for the excellent review again Yogi. Wowww! I've been looking for the review for this blade for almost a year. Thanks a lot, yogi_bear! Have you ever played with Donic Burn Off- or Donic Epox Offensiv? I've been using either of them for a long time, and I must say I really love them. Can you please compare the Sigma Sensitec to the mentioned blades? I just want to know if Sigma Sensitec played in comparison to Burn Off- or Epox Offensiv. Thank you

actually i played with a friend's burn off- a few times and owned an epox offensiv in the past. the burn off- has a harder feel than the sigma. i think if i remember it right both the epox and sigma have a koto outerply but the sigma is thicker. both blades looked like were produced under the same factory. the sigma has a thicker handle than the epox but the epox has a wide handle. i think sigma is faster by a notch than the epox offensiv. cant say exactly with the burn off- ------------- Independent online TT Product reviewer of XIOM, STIGA, JOOLA, SANWEI, GEWO, AIR, ITC, APEX, YASAKA and ABROS ITTF Level 1 Coaching Course Conductor, ITTF Level 1 Coach |

Thanks a lot, yogi_bear! It surprises me that the Burn off- which is rated as ''off-" is harder than the Sigma, the off blade. From your useful information, I think the Sigma is worth a try. I hope I like it as much as the epox and the burn blades. The softer feel the blade, the more I like.

| I haven't seen a separate thread on this, but I recently had a chance to play with a Xeon Sensitec, which is a slower version of the same blade, in the ALL+ - OFF- range I would say. I would say it is much as Yogi describes the Sigma version, only thinner and slower, more of a loopers blade. Xeon is also slower than the Stratus Power wood. Actually, it felt quite similar to the 1985 Stiga offensive classic I have been using lately, which surprised and impressed me because the blade looks so modern. Also, let me put in a big thumbs up for Tibhar handles. A nice size for people with big hands. People who like allwood blades with great feel should consider this one. |

Great! I'm considering buying either sigma or xeon. I do not like a blade that gives a solid feel. I'm looking forward to reading your review on those blades, yogi_bear. Baal, have u ever tried donic burn off- or epox offensiv? If so, can u please compare xeon with these blades in terms of speed, feel, and sound? Anyone knows how the the playing differences between a thick and thin blade? I've wasted a lot of money trying many different blades, but I've been disappointed so far.

I just bought Sigma Sensitec with Sinus Sound on forehand and Nimbus Sound on Backhand. The blade is very stiff, too stiff for my liking. I'm lucky enough that I decided to attach 2 soft rubbers on it so it gives me some feeling. If I put a hard rubber on it, I'm sure I'm gonna hit a ball with a brick! At first, I'm looking for Xeon Sensitec, but the FL handle is out of stock. The equipment is now on promotion, so most of them are very cheap, meaning that I can't wait for the new arrival of Xeon with FL handle. I bought the blade for let's say 25 US dollars (in Thailand). I must admit that the blade is very fast, like yogi_bear said. If it is more flexible, I might like this blade...
