why are all the players using red edge tape?

At most big games the organizers from on oversized logos. So they tend to tape over the players edge tape if they consider the logo too prominent.
I have had even the logo on my socks taped at a few of these games.

I use red edge tape.  It was cheap.
I also don't like to give out free advertising.

I agree that is a joke, but business is business.
Did you read that the local British Fish and Chip take away is not allowed to sell Chips on its own, as that right is reserved for McD?

In some Pepsi sponsored event, they don't sell Coke at the venue, and if seen with a Coke, they have the right to take it away from you.

This is not ITTF, this is IOC agreement with it sponsored.

The Coke vs Pepsi I witness at a cricket match. I also know there was something at Fifa 2010 world cup, but can't remember what.
