Hi. I have some questions about tensors hope you can help me.

1- How much time take for a new gem tensor breaks in?

2- When the rubber brakes in how much does the spin and speed increase?

3- When the rubber brakes onlye the speed and spin is affected or the hardness and dwell too?

first, it usually takes a session to break into the rubber

second, in terms of increase of speed/spin.... hard to say i notice a big difference, others might be able to help you with this.

as for the rubber breaking/chipping affecting play, it usually chips in the edges so it shouldn't affect play IMHO. some rubbers chip easier than others (especially soft rubbers)

By breaking I was telling the sponge Breaking In is the term I think.

It depends very much on the rubber, and also the person using it. I usually find that the softer rubber take little, if any, time to break in, whereas the firmer rubbers can often feel a little stiff and need some time to loosen up and become more elastic.

As above....

Some rubbers come to life quickly, others take up to a week! I find once they settle speed changes very little over the life of the rubber however spin does vary. New rubber has more spin performance and sensitivity tobspin but as the surface wears they tend to lose spin but become less sensitive to it as well. I think that the dwell/bounciness of a rubber is kind of an indicator to its condition. As it ages it loses both and plays more and more like a dead chinese rubber.
