I have no luck to find a site that sells ITTF approved 40+ mm plastic balls.

DHS and Double Fish are supposed to have them for sale now.

(Began to sell on May 9, according to your link. The price may be 10% higher than the old cellulose balls.)

http://bit.ly/1g9lu98" rel="nofollow - http://bit.ly/1g9lu98

X-day is coming. Where is the plastics? WHERE IS THE DHS 40+ ?
Is it really possible for players to get the PB's true taste in less than a month period ????????????
DHS seems to go a big flop in marketing the balls in time,
Shame on DHS, and so is ITTF !!!!

So the CNT already has a head start in trying out the new ball. No one can challenge them now, and no one can challenge them after July either.

Hard to find the ITTF approved 40+ plastic balls for sale.

Will all ITTF sanctioned tournaments after July 1 this year use 40+ plastic balls?

Yeah; to be honest I think that's slightly unfair, but there has been a video of Ovtcharov training with the new ball with Kirill Skachkov so maybe it's not limited only to the CNT

I know some were handed out at the recent Japan Team Championship. I'm sure most of the Elite players have access to them. I suppose it's only fair that they should get access to them first, as they are the first ones that will need to use them.

You should be able to get Xushaofa 40+ 3* white ball at around 40 RMB (for 6 balls) now (before shipping). I've just ordered mine from taobao... waiting for delivery.

CRACKY DHS BALLS.
While being aware of poor DHS quality, ITTF does refuse to slacken the T3 requirements on the plastic balls.

REFERENCE DOCUMENT:
< ITTF BoD MinuteS
Tokyo, May2 2014.>

    5) .....the Board approved the following reports:
5.1 Athletes’ Commission (document G1) and noted that:

4 manufacturers had approved balls but had also requested some relaxation in the tolerances for weight, bounce and hardness in order to get better and more durable balls.

An extension of until 1 Jan 2016 had been agreed with the manufacturers for the modified tolerances after which the current requirements of T3 would be implemented.

====================
Comments by IgorpongeR:

-- As seeing their ball poor quality, DHS has informally asked from ITTF for an approval of yet heavier and harder balls, and the request was rejected and suspended till 2016.

However, T3 weight and hardness allowance for the 40+ may be re-considered some later day, so that manufactures could produce a better durable ball..

Till than, the DHS balls to supply soon on general marketplace gonna to be rather CRACKY..
We have now got a clear video footage of the ball's instability during china nationals training play. Not so good for a common consumer. Sorry.

Perhaps,   ITTF should allow some heavier balls for the better shock resistance, better endurance.
Cracky balls would be a true money waster to rip out common people.

There is no "ITTF Approved" sign on the ball.

I am pretty sure that the new plastic ball with the current specification will not survive in the market for the common players. One or two Chinese manufacturers who would continue to produce the old balls would surely cash in on the ITTF's stupidity on the detriment of DHS and any ball "reseller", be it Joola or Butterfly or anybody else who sells rebranded balls made in China.

This is document is the sign that we will be playing with the good old balls for a couple of years imho.

Just as side remark, if they are redesigning the new balls to be heavier in order to be more durable, nothing will change with regards to the speed of table tennis but our rubbers will wear out more often.

I see it confirmed again that it would have been simpler to raise the net just a little and stay with the 38 mm ball. Actually, redesigning the plastic ball to be 38 mm would be a good thing and a passport for Sharara and whoever else that was involved in messing with the ball to the crypt of tabletennis.

I just tried one today actually; a DHS representative had a box of 6 of the 3 star 40+ balls to hand out to some pro players at the Australian Open, and he gave the likes of William Henzell and Feng Tianwei one for them to try. I got my hand on one temporarily and played with it. It was noticeably slower, harder and I found it harder to hit through the ball. It was equally difficult, if not more, to block as the hardness of the ball just makes blocking really weird. To be honest, I really didn't notice too much in terms of spin. Sound was kind of the same as well, practically unnoticeable.

Edit: I was also using a very different setup from what I'm accustomed to; the bat I was using was a ZJK ALC+ with unboosted Hurricane and Tenergy, so the rubbers and blade are harder so that might have contributed to what I felt with regards to the hardness of the ball (as I've played with the same setup with normal balls and also realised it was hard to hit through)

It looks like Padle Palace has already formed a sufficient stock of various plastics 40+ for sale.

My main interest is what retail price does they put down for the products ?
