Hi guys,

STIGA has just released a video on their facebook showing some kind of new carbon technology!

It really looks interesting! I don't play with Carbon at the moment but will perhaps give it a try when this new technology gets released.

Do you guys think that they will release a new blade using this technology? Or perhaps more? Any of you have any insights?

Sure looks awesome anyhow.

hmmm, all i can say is that they have been developing these carbon blades for 3 years and they claim it's unlike any other blades in the market now. hopefully i can test these blades maybe end of January or beginning of February.

i hope it is as good as Butterfly's Tamca5000 carbon series.  If it's cheap carbon fibers like the ones found in Allround Classic Carbon, then no thanks.

Stiga is steering toward the path of Butterfly.

190 is quite a bit thicker than 145, probably above 1mm judging from the handle.

Seems like thin Limba top ply-textreme carbon -thin Limba or ayous-thick Kiri or ayous center ply. So probably it will be like a mizutani szlc or hayabusa-vega series.

Come on who am I kidding, it's stiga man! Carbon layer would like to be 1k not 3k like a szlc. It will be like a thicker , heavier and springy Vega pro.

THat baldes are looking very thick, that new carbon doesn't look very fast judging from the thickness of the blades.

Hmmmmm.
The carbon pattern resembled me of SZLC ,but when looking at the side-view this may be new!!.
I went to http://www.textreme.com. and see products with this tech.

STIGA plz stop,I hate my EJ disease, especially with limba-carbon.

In fact, be using a third party carbon technology, Stiga admits his big lacunas on carbon technology (textrem carbon is not a Stiga's patent).

BTY developps carbon technologies for TT blades, that textrem carbon is a general technology not designed since the beginning for TT blades. I don't believe a general technology, designed for general use in Sport could by anyways outperform the BTY's or even Xiom's carbon technologies developped specifically for Table Tennis blades.

Isn't it the same for Butterfly?  As far as I know they source their carbon fibers from Toray by the trademark TORAYCA.  It is also pretty certain the arylate fibers come from the Kuraray and the zylon fibers come from Toyobo.

Yeah, I thought Tamca was BTY's proprietary carbon, while Zylon is a 3rd party brand. But maybe Tamca is just BTY's name for a 3rd party carabon.

WOW! look at the size of the wings on those blades! (Relative to where you put your thumb on the handle.) And with the carbon it will be hard to sand them for comfort, without creating a carbon razor blade-like edge. Question

TeXtremely much, I guess. Unfortunately, I don't see anything but the price what could be significantly changed by using TeXtreme materials in TT blades.

Finally the name of the series is announced: Carbonado

I think it's a terrible name, but that is also due to the fact that in Dutch the word "karbonade" means pork chop :)

More info about both blades and a new video:

Now that the meaning of 45 and 90(an extended application from the pip pattern of rubber sheet) in the series name is revealed, what does 1 stand for?  1st model in the lineup, 2nd to follow?

P.S.  And with that video, can we say Stiga endorses the existence of "throw angle" for blades?

Haha weird name but I think I like it, the important part is of course how they play!

I really like the video and I think the blades looks great! Hopefully it will be cheaper than Viscaria which I think is way overpriced!

Anyone knows what the 1 before 45 and 90 stands for? Could it be Version 1?
Can't wait to try it!

I think it's funny how a lot of guys seem so exited becaus of the review dan did but if you look into the carbonado 145 thread that is on this forum you can see that the review is getting critic because it isn't really a review

I was really exited for this blade even before Dans review because it's a totally new carbon blade by Stiga. I agree that Dan didn't say so much bad about the blade but can't it not just be that it really is a very good blade? I hope Dan says what he really thinks and I'm really exited to give it a try myself!

Even if the blade is crap, Dan wouldnt put it in his review. He is sponsored by Stiga (as coach) and did the review at Stiga against a Stiga sponsored player.

One on one comparison with Viscaria and TB ALC would give a way better review........

Watch all if dans stiga reviews and also if you compare some other reviews with them you'll see same with super zlc review he normally doesn't mention everything that is printed on the blade
