I was thinking of getting something similar to this to pick up balls during multiball

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Triangula-Telescopic-Fishing-Landing-Net-3-Section-Extending-Pole-Folding-Handle-/271933624227?hash=item3f5081cfa3:g:75kAAOSwDNdVqgLi

Anyone has any experience using such fishing gear for this purpose

It seems cheaper than the table tennis brands equipment

I have a prototype at first i use some hair bands the round one but after awhile it become loose so i tried this fishing line its way better and tight and only cost like $6.00 i will take some photo in a little bit with what kind i use.By the way the net i used comes when you buy onions or lemon in bulk at the grocery store..it can hold 200 balls. other materials  i use is old badminton racket and the pole is from a broom where you can buy in a dollar store and one more thing duct tape LOL

Here is my ball picker upper

The problem with old badminton rackets is that they break easily

Better to use a round bar that is about 1/8 inch diameter. Bend it to shape like a racket then tie the strings

I personally think the traditional "scooping" nets are much easier to use and can pick up more balls more quickly.

Scooping nets, especially the iPong nets, are the best imho

If the price is not an issue, mypingpongbuddy is hands down the best of all:

Aliexpress has lots of them. Their algorithm is good, look at the results searching for "ping pong pick up balls":  Tongue

If it works for tt it might be the absolute cheapest solution at $2.60 a piece, including prime shipping. 34in is more than enough on length. How the ring efficiently slashes under the balls and how durable would the net be while rubbing the floor against the ring are 2 big questions though.

I use a fishing net and that is held in position by a cobweb cleaner rod. Costs about ₹200/-. Cheap and effective.
