Would a japanese penhold with short pips be a good setup? If so, would it be better with traditional or grippy short pips?

Former champion for deaf players in Japan played this style until he retires after the WC for deaf players in Sofia 2008. He used to play with Jpen and max thickness short pips.
I owned him 3:0, but very close each game. It is very hard to play this style and I think the better variant will be using more thick balsa blade but with Cpen.
One of our former TOP level players used to play this style too.
I saw he tried at regional high level competition to play with G.Dragon blade 12mm thick, sanded and cut for Cpen + some TSP pips.

79 world champ mitsuru kohno was japanese penhold with spectol (although not a long j/k racket, but the shorter rounder j/k racket)

Since the Sp penhold style is a fast style, the Cpen shape provides a larger margin of error given the bigger surface area compared to the traditional jpen shape... However i have known many Cpen Sp players who add a stud to their Cpen handle so it feels more like a jpen
