Not the most famous among the top players but nevertheless...what a nice match and nice opposition between a powerfull attacker and a modern short simple defender.
If Jang Song man were South Korean or japanese, I bet his TT carrer would have been a very nice one....bad luck for him, hé is North korean....

This one is a classic. Not to mention the emotion and will from both players attempting to qualify for the Olympics.

That's been one of my favourite TT videos for many years, one I'm always telling people about - nice to see it again. A classic attack-defence battle.

Jiang Jialiang's commentator curse was of epic proportion.

Before the start of the match, Jiang Jialiang gave some pointers on how to play a chopper. One of them is strike hard and fast using fast loops and 3rd ball attacks when serving, but no forcing it. When receiving, use less fast loops and play to his crossover point to jam him. Also he said to avoid Jang's backhand as even the player can't accurately gauge how much spin the Japanese long pips put on the ball but rely on touch alone. Then by 4:5 Cheung serving in the 1st game, Jiang's "curses" started coming true.

OTOH, announcer Chung Chi Kwong advised Cheung Yuk to keep up the pace after the 1st point and do not go to the final game at all cost.
