I have never faced a lobber like that. Q: Can't we pretend that we are going to let the ball bounce an then smash, but the last moment just do a quick low to the table block the moment the ball bounces on our side? That opens up angles and shortens their reaction time, especially if one does a drop shot. or is that a very difficult shot to execute?

I have played James Therriault from Sacramento. He is a much better lobber with a wide verity of shots. Most of his shots are deep on the table with extreme spins that are hard to read off the paddle. I find that I need to wait to see the spin after the bounce to have a chance of returning the ball. |
