Lebesson is a soft rubber player (FX-P on FH, 40 hardness; BH is also soft). Somehow he manages to reach Belarus finals only to face an alleged hard rubber player Yukiya Uda (Tenergy 05 Hard on both sides, presumably). I think experience talks but strategically, Uda's game is better and he missed so many things he is not suppose to at his level. I think Uda was just bothered by French weirdness and he would prevail after playing Lebesson a couple times more. BTW I am French and I like Lebesson a lot for his serve, 3rd ball and quick attacks despite his tall size. pros players use rubbers for sponsor to push sales. The rubber he is using might be soft commercially but he is using ones that's several degree harder specially designed for him. ------------- USATT: Current 2139 as of 11/2019 |

Isn't the fx-p just an mx-p with a softer sponge? So even if he does have a special pro player version rubber, at the most the sponge hardness should be around 43-45 deg, or else even tibhar would ask him to just use an mx-p. ------------- 1.dhs pg2 fl -FH t05h (max) -BH tibhar genius (max) |

Of course 05 Hard is harder than the regular 05; that's why it's called 05 Hard (36° vs 43° on japanese scale is a very noticible difference). Also, hunkeelin is correct in his assumption, at least in regards to Lebesson... On a german forum, the owner of this very forum (who also happens to have a store and very close ties to Tibhar and who is also a professional coach!) would occasionally talk about the rubbers which the pros use. As for the Evo rubbers: There are more versions available for the sponsored players than commercially available for us. Those rubbers are, as hunkeelin mentioned, specifically designed to fit the needs of the sponsored player, and therefore not really have a specific price tag. I do remember that he (the owner of this forum) mentioned that Lebesson uses very hard versions of the FX-P (around 45° ESN scale). Now, FX-P and MX-P of course use the same topsheet, so these hard FX-Ps are essentially soft MX-Ps (although they do have FX-P printed on them). Mind you, that the owner provides very reliable information and is pretty much known as a non-nonsense guy in the scene.
