Hi all,

As a long-term user of Viscaria-like blades, I recently started contemplating stepping down to something inner carbon rather than outer carbon - in hope to increase feeling, touch and ability to spin the ball under pressure (rather than blocking or flat hitting as I typically resort to).

I'm using Dignics 09c rubbers on both wings and plan to continue using them.

The initial obvious options are:

1) Butterfly Innerforce ALC
2) Donic Waldner Senso Carbon

Do you know what the differences between these two blades might be? How would they play with Dignics 09c, especially compared with Timo Boll Spirit or TB ALC with the same rubbers?

Thank you

Perhaps you can consider also Harimoto (inner) ALC.

The Apolonia should not be left out either.

I would really consider a Harimoto ALC or an Apolonia ZLC, depending on what distance from the table you play at. I have played with D09c on both Harimoto ALC and Apolonia ZLC and the difference that I would keep in mind between them is the speed that you get out of the blade on low impact shots. Apolonia still has some power on low impact shots but Harimoto kind of slows down quite a bit. Also, the top end speed on both those blades is quite different, not to mention the blade face size too.

Shameless plug - in case you are looking to upgrade to an Apolonia, I have one for sale here Tongue

If you are considering an inner carbon blade, you cannot forget about the DHS Hurricane Long 5. It is not popular just because Ma Long is using it. It is one of the truly outstanding blades especially if you can find a good one.

If you like koto outer blades like Viscaria you can consider Donic Original True Carbon Inner

It keeps koto outer layer and kiri core while most of other inner blades uses Limba outer and ayous core.

What blade can be a cheaper version of tmxi or truecarbon?
