what exactly determines the thow angles of rubber. Is it the softer the rubber the lower the thrower angle generally? Do tensor rubbers have low throw angles generally because they are softer and i hear that chinese rubbers tend to have high throw angles is this because they are harder and the tacky surface?

on chinese rubbers it has to do with the tackiness of the surface and on euro/jap rubbers it would probably be a combination of the grippyness and the springyness of the sponge but not sure on that so check with some other people on that.

Even for Chinese rubbers the sponge matters. Soft sponge + tacky topsheet + good power = very high throw, in my experience.

IMO, it depends most on dwell time.

Pip geometry as well, flat pips will have a lower looping throw than conic pips will.

as well as the hardness of the rubber and sponge also affects throw angle
