I was reading the Butterfly 2009 catalog and I realized Zoran Primorac is using a TBS. While the name of the blade is of little importance to why the particular blade was selected by a pro, I find it funny when Primorac is using the TBS against Timo Boll in a game. The same can be said when Xu Xin played Ma Lin using his "Ma Lin" EO. Can you think of other similar occasions?

Kreanga played with Primorac Carbon and I think that Mizutani played with Michael Maze.

I did see that somewhere and was wondering if it was a typo because doesn't Zoran use Primorac Carbon? If he switched to TBS, he's pretty much saying his blade sucks Smile  I want a refund!

Although I haven't try a Primorac carbon before, I heard that it is an excellent smashing/blocking blade for fast attacks. May be Zoran changed his style so the PC doesn't fit him anymore. On the other hand, Dan Seemiller and Bryan Pace probably don't want to be seen near their signature rackets.

I think it was a bad idea naming any blade after a player. Because the blade isn't exclusive to anyone so it should have a more universal name.

I completely agree with that, Stiga names are okay, while Galaxy blades are a little, hmmm, confusing.

I don't mind manufacturers using sponsored player names to advertise their products if that player actually provided input during the product development. Clearly that is not always the case, especially with lower level product lines (in Butterfly).

On the other hand, I'm amazed at why some names were picked by the manufacturers for their products. I bought a Xiom Requiem last month only knowing it should be an all round blade with Aramid-Carbon. It is not a popular blade and I couldn't find any reviews. I bought it without knowing the details partly because of the funny name. I wonder if it will be a "funeral mass" for my opponent or myself. Big%20smile
