[12:13:55 AM] ohgnow: factory is not making this rubber now, they say they are investigating new sponges...so we are really not sure , usually we can restock from them regularly every 1-2 weeks, but now we can't get the product

These Chinese manufacturers need to stop changing shiz up so danged often. Why don't you like max anyway? There's barely any difference between 2.0mm and max.

yes, Haifu and Xiom (two of my favorites) are changing things every time the wind blows

I just wanted a little more control as I continue to learn my backhand topspin strokes

turns out I'm talking to Jim, the owner, and it's a one man show (which I think I read in another thread). he's pleasant to talk to and a very busy guy.

i will write more tomorrow about what I've learned from this. i have to crash now

I've seen elsewhere about tolerance variations on Haifu Shark II, it sounds like unless you understand the Chinese characters on the packaging, the process goes something like this:

Us: I need to order Shark II soft.

Them: Here it is.

Us: The thickness is important to me; is this 2.0 or Max?

Them: We already said, "here it is".

The best advice I can give anyone when ordering from ttnpp:

Contact him via skype RIGHT BEFORE you place the order to make sure he has it in stock. The website obviously doesn't have real-time inventory management. You might have to wait to order it, but that's the compromise you need to make to get the low price. Contacting him before ordering should save you a lot of aggravation.

Since my sheets of Shark II 2.0 were all more than 2.0 it should be ok to order it in max IF the max is really going to be 2.1 and not 2.5 :). It sounds like they might have the accuracy sorted and that's why theres no 2.0's anymore. I might order some soft max and compare the thickness. For you guys that have ordered just send them one email saying you will have your order changed from 2.0 to max please or you will have your money refunded. Wait a week if you here nothing then pull your money back on paypal and put a note in the paypal request that you are getting a refund so you can reorder. That's what I've done when TTNPP were out of stock and it works for me, soon as I got the money back I ordered other rubbers that were in stock. Bit of a stuff around but that's part of the charm of shopping with our illustrious friend Jim :D

So, we all must understand that if we make an order without contacting him, it's somewhat of a gamble. I'm still very appreciative of his great prices.

Got an update on my order aswell. It shipped today, but almost a month after i placed it. So i guess it's all been cleared up, as stated in these past few posts.

Really cheap prices, busy guy, no guarantees of stock as indicated on website. Call him before placing orders to save some headache. No biggie!
